Please watch the rotten mango video about the sewol ferry tragedy and the Korean billionaire linked to pile of 32 dead people in attic these two videos are linked.

Please watch the rotten tomato. It’s lengthy but I feel like it’s the perfect video to fully understand , why the issue happened

In all of us are dead. A lot of scenes mirror the sewol disaster. I’m not sure if you saw it but like when the plane was just flying above the school building and not saving them, or when they said “do you think the country values children or Adults more” it’s thought they were referring to sewol. Also the adults not saving the kids, so they had to save themselves

Agree with Larissa about the Rotten Mango video IF you want to watch that in your free time. It is very well explained and thorough. It goes more in depth about the details of the accident (almost 2hr video) and relies on news sources that worked closely with the victim families versus the mainstream media that was influenced by the government. With regards to the illegal modifications of the ship, they had added extra weight at the top of the boat to accomodate more passengers which brought the boat's centre of gravity to the top. Typically this should be a lot lower. The boat was also carrying a lot of cargo (more than the legal limit) which was not tied down. When the boat made a sharp turn, this caused the cargo to all go to one side.

Honestly what is even worse about the captain leaving first is he changed into casual clothes and didn't even mention he was the captain or about who was on the ship or anything just let them believe he was a passenger. The crew played an automated message then just left (well most of the crew i believe some did try and get the kids out but they passed with them sadly). if you did want to know the whole story behind it (not just what is related to the mv) rotten mango did a podcast explaining everything very well (to watch in you free time not to record because it is much longer then this lmao)

The Sewol Ferry tragedy is so devastating the deeper you dive into it. The ship capsized not only because of illegal modifications, but the helmsman steered the ship wrongly in such a way that the ship started leaning and it led to the capsize. That helmsman escaped with the captain and other crew. The families found out that the ship was in danger, and then the news reported and the families were informed that everyone aboard the ship were rescued from it. They found out hours later that it was a lie and everyone was still on the ship. To be fair to the crew, not all of them abandoned the ship and the passengers. Some of them stayed and died with them. Some passengers climbed out and were saved by mostly civilian boats. One young boy recounted a story of his older brother who helped him out a window with his life jacket and then told him not to forget him and that he loved him and their parents. His older brother saved his life and died. A few bodies weren’t found I don’t think. It’s really a very tragic story that was entirely avoidable if the corruption and negligence hadn’t happened.
