Systematic Magus - Chapter 2.2
Added 2022-06-10 20:34:01 +0000 UTCIronically, for how much of a legendary item Avalon was, once one knew just whom possessed it nowadays, it wasn't all that hard to find them.
Just a simple stop at any standard news agents in Fuyuki allowed Daiki to pick up a copy of the Japanese equivalent of the yellow pages, known simply as the Town Pages.
It listed where the Emiya household was located, the mail address for it and even the household telephone number.
Granted, it was almost iron clad in a way, because your typical magus wouldn't even know such a thing existed and the vast majority of them were absolutely useless with technology.
Not so for Daiki.
So it didn't take him long at all to find the Emiya household, a mere hour after landing in Fuyuki, he was already there.
Granted, he made a straight beeline for it because he didn't feel like waiting around in a town with Gilgamesh walking around freely as he pleased for long, but still.
…The only hiccup was that it was two in the afternoon when he arrived there. And it was Wednesday.
Shirou Emiya was in class, and considering most Japanese schools tended to make it so their students were required to be part of a club, he most likely would not be back for a good few hours yet.
"Well, it gives me a few hours to look around I suppose." Daiki mused, idly inspecting the entrance to the household.
He couldn't sense any bounded fields. Kiritsugu left none behind them, or any that he had had long since dissipated with his death.
"I wonder if any of his Origin Bullets are around?" Daiki hummed. Few would be left if so, but he could definitely make something useful out of even just one.

Unluckily, even with hours at his disposal, and with tracing any lingering mana within the household, Daiki found nothing resembling anything of Kiritsugu's tools.
He must have kept them in a separate area so Shirou never came across them.
Fucking Kiritsugu, he picked them to be a responsible parent about? Lame.
The only traces of any thaumaturgy Daiki found at all, was in Shirou's 'workshop.'
He found a few reinforced pipes.
And a faded summoning circle.
Absolutely useless to him.
It sucked, because a weapon made from the Origin Bullets would be incredibly useful against masters and servants together, but, oh well.
He at least had enough time to set up a magic circle within the residence to extract Avalon, and a few bounded fields to keep any prying eyes away.
The sun itself was beginning to dip over the horizon, and it was passed six in the evening when one of his bounded fields keyed him in to someone approaching the household.
"Finally." Daiki groused, pushing himself up from the push ups he was in the middle of and approaching the entrance.
He should have brought something to pass the time with. He didn't even have any equipment with him to make his training really all that worth it right now.
He approached the gate and waited.
Thankfully, he didn't need to wait long before a familiar red haired older teen dressed in a brown uniform came into view and approached the household.
Shirou Emiya gave him an odd look when he noticed Daiki leaning against the side of the entrance, "Erm, hello?" the redhead greeted him, "Is there anything I can help you with."
"Yeah, there is something thanks," Daiki smiled back at him, his magic circuits already on and prana being directed through his eyes, and he looked directly into Shirou's own, "I'm going to want you to be compliant, do as I tell you and answer any questions I ask truthfully."
"I'm wh-" Shirou's face scrunched up at his words before his features went abruptly slack, his eyes dimming in colour and becoming unfocused.
…So so easy.
His magic resistance was pitifully small, barely above a standard mundane human. It really was lucky he didn't have his magic circuits unlocked, otherwise, he'd have a pretty decent inborn magic resistance for a human.
"Come with me." Daiki ordered the now hypnotised Shirou, making his way back into the household.
Shirou trailed after him like a zombie.
He led Shirou out to the backyard of the household, just outside of the shed the redhead used as his workshop.
And where his drawn magic circle awaited.
"Stand in the middle of that magic circle." Daiki ordered him.
Shirou made no sound in reply and didn't even look at him. He just once again followed Daiki's orders and made his way over to stand in the middle of the magic circle.
Once he'd done so, Daiki kneeled down, placing his hands over the magic circle and began channelling his prana into it.
A moment later, the magic circle lit up with great neon green light and from it, ropes of pure energy began to rise, writhing the serpents.
"Brace yourself, this shouldn't hurt, but it'll feel weird and take a little bit." Daiki idly commented to the hypnotised Shirou, and with a thought, the ropes of magical energy slithered through the air and met Shirou's chest, phasing through his body and slipping inside.
Shirou didn't flinch nor did he make a peep of sound in response.
Daiki felt the ropes of energy make contact a moment later and couldn't help but shake his head in disbelief. A standard low grade extraction magic circle, one of the most basic of basic magic circles.
And it was extracting a legendary tier item like Avalon.
Kiritsugu really was such a trash magus. Or an idiot. Personally, Daiki leaned more towards him just being an idiot in general.
The guy should have taken his gorgeous busty white haired wife and his daughter and ran for the hills. That was the smart move. Giving all that up, giving up said wife for a fucking wish to save humanity, was a dumb ass play on top of the sheer dumbassery that was his entire stupid wannabe super hero life.
Though, thinking of Kiritsugu did bring a thought to mind.
"Hey, your dad Kiritsugu, did you bury him or burn him when he died?" Daiki asked.
Most Japanese from what he knew, tended to burn their dead these days. But if he was lucky and-
"I didn't want to burn his body. I had him buried at Ryuudou Temple." Shirou answered listlessly with a monotone voice.
Daiki's eyes widened and a massive grin spread across his face. Perfect, just perfect.
His bones were a lost cause. Angra Mainyu's curse had seeped that deep into him and even begun destroying his magic circuits.
But, it was quite possible the Emiya family crest he possessed was still in working condition. If it was, it was highly possible he could add it on to his own family's magic crest, which would lower the chances of a rejection from it because it would be subsumed by the greater whole that was his families crest that he was naturally attuned to.
And with Avalon and his sorcery trait from his mother, the chances were incredibly high that he would have no problem accessing the stored information and spells within the Emiya crest.
…And with that, he could gain access to the Time Alter spell. A very, very powerful and useful spell, especially in combat.
Just then, the magic circle finished its job and golden light erupted from Shirou's chest, the ropes of magic pulling free and held tightly within their grasp was a long bright golden sheath trimmed in blue.
Daiki could feel the mystical weight of the legendary sheath as soon as it appeared, could see the power in it just from the shimmering golden dust that it seemed to exude.
He gasped in awe.
And then immediately erupted into loud, loud laughter.
"The legendary Avalon, and it's all mine now!" he guffawed, standing up and spread his arms wide.
At his direction, the ropes of magical energy carried the golden sheath over to him and he shivered as they shimmered and submerged into his body just like they had Shirou.
Though in this case, they were not taking something, but placing something within.
He felt something click within him as the sheath merged with him and a shiver ran through him. Already he could feel the distinct energy of the sheath, seeping into his body.
If he had enough skill with Structural Analysis, he could probably see as his muscles began to ever so slowly speed up in healing.
…This, he could definitely work with this!
And perhaps, if he was lucky, he may even be able to tap into the special ability it had beyond the healing. That would take time though, time and a lot of research and experimentation/
Not something he could do for now, especially because he wanted to leave Fuyuki as soon as possible when he was done here.
And he had one more destination.
Daiki sobered himself up and looked to Shirou, "Take me to your fathers grave." he ordered, and quickly began erasing the magic circle at Shirou's feet.
The older teen said nothing in return, but at his word, mechanically began walking.
Daiki followed.
________________
It took over twenty minutes to reach the Ryuudou Temple and climb all the way up to the top of the massive staircase.
Any other time, Daiki would love to stick around and get a feel for the place. It was directly atop a leyline after all.
But he wasn't a fan of being within Fuyuki when he was so much weaker than the top dog ruling the place.
Thankfully, a quick warding bounded field made it so none of the temple monks or staff would bother them and Shirou was able to lead him straight to the graveyard out back, stopping in particular in front of one specific grave.
Kiritsugu Emiya.
Beloved father.
And a death date.
Nothing else was written atop the bland gravestone, not even his birthdate. Daiki supposed the man never even told it to Shirou.
"Stand back." Daiki ordered Shirou and stepped forward.
He knelt down and placed his hands over the grave, "Tahawal." he incanted, pushing his energy into the ground.
The ground shimmered and parted ways, a hole opening up while the ground on either side arced up into small hills, the hole leading directly to a plain wooden coffin.
Daiki jumped down and wasted no time, pulling the coffin aside. The sunken pale face of a corpse looked back at him. Kiritsugu was only dead less than ten years at this point, but, already his skin had decomposed to the point where Daiki could see his bones.
They were a dark muddy brownish black.
And the stench he gave off was pungent if nothing else. Sickeningly so. It smelled much worse than a typical decomposing body, and that was saying something.
And the feeling in the air, it changed swiftly.
He felt an oily disgusting mana seeping off from the bones. Even now the curse hadn't faded from his bones.
…The same bones that Kiritsugu used to create his origin bullets, now infused with the curse of Angra Mainyu. The kind of mystic code he could make from them would be absurd.
But no, he wasn't going to touch them.
Messing with a part of the source of all the worlds evils? Even for him, that was too risky.
Instead, Daiki placed his hand on the forehead of the corpse and focused, using Structural Analysis to find exactly where the Emiya crest was and kept his energy from going anywhere below the nerves, never touching the bones.
Even then, the haze of disgusting images that flashed through his mind would have given a normal man PTSD.
He saw himself murdering by the dozen, burning, slicing, slaughtering. Raping man and woman alike, feasting on the corpses of children, bathing in their blood, wearing the skin of the elderly as clothing. It only lasted for two seconds and most, but when Daiki pulled back a moment later after finding his target, he was panting deeply, wide eyed and sweating.
It was only a brief tiny glimpse into the disgusting baser nature of humanity and the evils they could stoop to, and Daiki had to withhold the urge to retch.
He scowled at the corpse, specifically eyeing the blackened bones, "You're gonna regret messing with me." he promised.
Absolutely disgusting, forcing him to see that and parading a likeness of himself around as the main star.
Angra Mainyu pissed him off.
That was no mere curse after effect. He was just targeted, he felt the will in it. Weak and flitting, not much grasp, but it was there.
A typical act of the same clown that ended up convincing Kiritsugu to destroy it rather than make his wish. The fool was unable to contain his baser evil desires even at the cost of accomplishing his goals.
Honestly, not all that different really from his foolish older brother.
Angra Mainyu just picked with him, whether the fool knew it or not, "I'm gonna piss in that cup." Daiki vowed, and would make sure that Angry Mango clown god got a mouth full of it.
Pissed off, Daiki couldn't even feel it in him right now to celebrate the fact that the Emiya family crest was still in working order.
He pressed his hand against the wall of the hole he was in, transmuting some of it into a simple scalpel and sliced open the suit formal robes Kiritsugu was buried in at the shoulder and began slicing into his decomposing skin.
With his nerves completely dead at this point, it made it incredibly easy to extract the family crest from the corpse.
'Five circuits in total.' Daiki noted as he examined the strips of flesh he extracted from the corpse.
Quite a small amount, but then, Kiritsugu never gained the full crest, much of it had been taken by the Clock Tower because of what the mans father had done.
Oh well, five would still boost the total amount of circuits in his own family crest to thirty four.
Quickly creating a storage container from the dirt around him with his alchemy, Daiki wasted no time in leaping up and out of the hole after closing the coffin and placed his hand on the ground once again and focused.
The small hills on either side of the hole deflated and poured into the hole, filling it back up again and in moments making it look as if nothing had changed from before whatsoever.
Daiki sighed, containing the urge to punch something.
Instead, he turned towards Shirou and reached into his pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper, "Take this with you, go back home and forget we ever met," Daiki instructed the older teen, "Leave this sheet of paper in an obvious place you'll notice while you're at it."
It wasn't anything special he'd written down. Just something he decided for now to help keep this fool alive until the time for the Grail War came and not killing himself through turning his nerves into magic circuits. Basically, the instructions on how to unlock his own magic circuits and some instructions for basic spells like Alteration, Projection and a few basic bounded fields and the like.
Shirou accepted the piece of paper at Daiki's instruction and turned on his feet, mechanically walking around and heading home.
Daiki watched him go until he disappeared from view and then sighed, "That guy really needs to get a hold of himself." he shook his head.
It was no wonder he got bad ended so much.
Well, no point in sticking around here any longer. He was ever eager to leave this city.
He took down his bounded field and left the Ryuudou Temple, making his way down the stairs.
Shirou Emiya was already long out of view by time he reached the bottom, "Right, now how do I get back to the airport from he-" Daiki wondered aloud to himself only to freeze before he finished.
Because just then, an older plum haired girl wound around the corner and came into view.
Sakura Matou.

2022-06-11 16:08:36 +0000 UTCI'm a bit sad at how Shirou was treated. It's understandable why somebody with a Magus's upbringing would make these choices, but Shirou is a nice guy and making him help rob his father's grave is a really big asshole move...
