One Piece: Rise - Marineford Interlude

Marine Headquarters was in an uproar.

A variety of emotions including rage, hatred, disgust and more were liberally expressed in the raised voices of all attending marines.

Commodore Brannew, a tall well built man with tanned skin and curly dark green hair currently donning a pair of sunglasses and sporting a blue shirt and pink pants slammed his hand atop the board he was standing beside, hard

The mayhem unfolding in front of him ground to a halt immediately. Marines of varying ranks hurriedly sat down at their stations once more while Brannew cleared his throat. His authority was not to be underestimated.

Every eye was on him. "Yes, It is true." He calmly spoke, face impassive. "He has struck once again, delivering quite the blow to not only our reputation, but has the Celestial Dragon's themselves in an uproar!"

He smacked his palm atop a wanted poster situated atop the board, drawing every eye in the room to the depicted image. The image was of a young man, really little more than a boy. There was a bored look in his emerald green eyes as he held a pair of dead marines in the air by their necks.

"It's come to our attention that a day we feared would one day come, has approached," the green haired man frowned, walking up and down the lines of Vice Admiral Marines, looking each and every one of them in the eye over his sunglasses as he went, "For nine years he has plagued the marines of the East Blue and slaughtered his way through thousands of our men. Since he was but a toddler of barely six years. But, today, we have learned that no more than two weeks ago, did Cozia D. Magnus split off from the Black Cat Pirates and began forming his own crew, and in that short period of time, he's already accomplished much. He attacked and killed the pirate El Drago and his crew, and this morning assaulted Tequila Wolf and took the head off our dear comrade Vice Admiral Graydle while claiming the lives of over a hundred good marines in the process!"

"What a monster!" Vice Admiral Dalmation snarled, already in in his hybrid devil fruit form as he slammed his fist down in a rage, "We must stamp this evil piece of trash out!

There was a cacophony of shouts of agreement from much of the other Vice Admirals as haki infused killing intent surged within the room.

"Calm yourselves," Vice Admiral Momonga spoke up lowly and calmly. Despite how quiet it was though, there was a steel in his voice that immediately forced them to obey and quiet down, "While I agree he must be dealt with. He is a but a child lashing out at the world, there is no need to hate him so.

There was a scoff on the other side of the room coming from Vice Admiral Onigumo, "You're one to talk, don't let sentimentality get in the way just because you taught the boys father when he was one of us," he spat, "He committed evil by marrying that pirate whore, as such, we of Justice refused to intervene and protect a kingdom ran by evil like Cozia. Red Magnus has simply proven that the blood of evil runs in his veins and needs to be stamped out!

"It is thinking like that, that has led us to this situation in the first place," Momonga narrowed his eyes, "I am not advocating in any way that the boy should be forgiven, merely that we should remember how it came to this in the first place. If we had put a stop to Germa 66's foolishness as we should have, right now that boy capable of killing any one us with the potential for greatness, perhaps even that of an Admiral, would most likely be a marine right now instead of a filthy pirate and bringing further chaos to the world!"

"Calm down people," Brannew sighed, "We are not here to debate. Merely to learn of a new enemy on the rise, and he will be a great one some day soon if he is not stopped. I haven't even got to the best part yet."

Many of them perked up at his words and the green haired man gave a chagrined smile, "During the fight with Vice Admiral Graydle, he was confirmed to be using Observation Haki of quite a high level."

"Absurd!"  Onigumo surged to his feet, "A child of the East Blue that hasn't even reached Paradise using Haki? How would he...." the man trailed off before realization struck him and he looked to Momonga, eyes narrowing.

Momonga nodded, "...Most likely my former apprentice passed on the basics of it to him before the destruction of Cozia," he mused aloud before shaking his head, "But Cozia D. Magnus was merely a six year old boy back then. For him to be at this level with such little training, he must be a prodigy of absurd talent."

"The blood of an evil monster runs in his veins, no wonder." Onigumo growled, sitting back down and crossing his arms.

The boys mother after all, Charlotte Violet was a filthy pirate, and daughter of the even more filthy and evil Charlotte Linlin, otherwise known, as Big Mom, one of the four Emperor's of the Sea.

"I wish that was all I could say as well," Brannew sighed, "He has also revealed the power of a devil fruit. Specifically, a zoan fruit. One that allows him to take the form of a white tiger."

A serious of shocked gasps and mutterings ran throughout the room, "You're not saying?" Momonga went totally wide eyed, his mustache bristling with his shock.

Brannew nodded his head, "I'm afraid so, we believe it may the un-awakened form of the Mythical White Tiger Zoan fruit, a counterpart fruit to that of Marco the Phoenix's and the Yonkou Kaido's Dragon Zoan."

The room was silent in their shock.

"He killed thousands of marines in his time going from child to teen. He has raided and looted. He has destroyed over one hundred years of work on the Tequila Wolf bridge in his petty hate against us. He has taken the head of one of our strongest and he has the potential to one day rival Kaido should his fruit awaken," Brannew listed and then slammed his hand on the board once again, replacing the poster already there with another over it, "It is for these reasons, that we believe we must declare him a top threat from the get go before he ever reaches the Grand Line!"

Their shock grew as they beheld the new wanted poster on the board.

For an East Blue pirate that had never even set foot in Paradise yet. It was a record breaking bounty, and it showed just how much of a threat the World Government considered Cozia D. Magnus!
