Sledding Comic + Quick Update!

Hey y'all.

Don't worry, still here! Getting back to work after the holidays took a bit out of me in terms of scheduling, but I have been working behind the scenes on stuff.

New cartoon should be out within the next few days or so, just putting the finishing touches on it throughout the weekend. I genuinely would've finished it earlier, but got some pretty major artblock about a week or two ago after I finished the comic above. But I'm feeling good again!

There will be a slight delay to the "thank you" post I'm sure, but not by much. It will be the very next thing I work on. Then I will start working on something for Valentine's Day (with any luck that'll get done on time, lol).

Next short is in the works as well, with a similar snowman theme. It's kind of a sequel to this, mostly because I got the idea halfway through finishing this, lol.

Final Merch Day!

Final reminder for anyone still considering. Not sure if we'll make it with the pins, it was worth a shot, but I COMPLETELY understand why the plushies are more popular. I'm glad for it too, because those are my main focus and hopefully we'll get to do another! Zoe sold about as well as Mitzi, so as far as I'm concerned this campaign was a success even if the pins falter.

I'll try to share more about the parents soon. This has kinda been a big month for "introducing new characters I should probably elaborate on a little bit", lol. I have a Marcie comic in the works, as well as a Christmas post featuring our seldom-seen grandparents.

Zoe plushie sales have been extended through the end of the year which is nice, Makeship figured it would be good to catch some extra Holiday sales.

Figured I might as well keep up the tradition of making a fake print ad. The Zoe doll is very photogenic, she sticks out well against the warm autumn colors and leaves. But now it is cold outside and the winter is here, so I'm gonna start making some winter stuff!

It's finally done! And thanks for helping me settle on the name! For those of you who were in second place voting for Lulu Toutou, you can take solace in the fact that Mitzi refers to Marcie by the similar sounding nickname, "Foofoo".

[Poodle Poll] YOU Choose Her Name

Hey everyone! Gonna post the "thank you" tomorrow, most likely, just finished up the drawings for it, now all I need to do is settle the name. So, I'm gonna let you all choose, as a bonus for being Patrons and for waiting patiently for this piece. The choices are all there, and I will choose the name with the most votes.

The choices are as follows:

-Marcie Beaucoup
This is simply a pun on merci beaucoup, which means "thank you very much" and is a common French Phrase.

-Fleur Dujour
This translates to "Flower of the Day". "Du jour" typically refers to restaurant items that are temporary, so this is sort of a joke about how she's an exchange student.

-Lulu TouTou
This is just a fun rhyming name, but "tou tou" is an affectionate name used to mean "doggy" or "stuffed toy" which of course fits her well considering that she's a fluffy lookin' dog.

-Cerise Caniche
Pretty much translates to "cherry poodle", but the actual color of "cerise" is the same color as her big beret and skirt.

Behind the Scenes- Dogumentary 4K HD Version

Hey y'all,

Thought you might enjoy a nice behind the scenes exclusive! This is the "Toy Dogs" short, but in crisp HD without all the VHS filters, noise, grain, and color degradation.

There's gonna be just a slight delay to the "thank you" post this week (shouldn't be too long, just a couple days), so I wanted to give you something to tide you over. Because of all the Thanksgiving stuff with family and friends, along with the Zoe/Pin launch itself, I didn't get a lot of time to work on the post, but it's coming. Like the "Ms. Depoint" introduction earlier this year, this one will be similar and focusing on our new poodle pal, who judging by all the fanart this weekend is already well liked, lol. So I hope you look forward to it, and I appreciate your patience!

New Video!- Dogumentary

It's finally done, and Zoe and the Murphy & Mitzi pins are live on Makeship's site!

I had a LOT of fun piecing this together, but it took so much longer than expected, lol. It's made from several audio clips across different "American Kennel Club" VHS tapes from the 80s/90s that detailed different dog breeds, along with production music sourced from old corporate instructional videos. I watched a lot of weird 80s tapes to get the vibes right.

Managed to finish this 5 minutes before I now have to leave to have my Thanksgiving dinner. Hope you all have a good day regardless of if you celebrate or not!

Zoe Plush + Pin Poster Reveal!

Hey y'all

Apologies about being MIA the past couple of weeks, been prepping for this launch!

There will be another documentary-style video like what I made for the Mitzi plush earlier this year when the Zoe plush launches, so that's been taking up most of my time. I didn't intend on it taking me so long, but it's over two minutes long and full of animation and characters and video effects, so I'm hoping it will be well worth the wait.

I do genuinely apologize for the more frequent periods of silence the past couple of months. Because the Halloween video and this video are much greater in length than the usual 20-30 second shorts, that's why things have slowed down, I've still been working on these things every day, the progress just takes more time. My work schedule for my job also changed a bit back in September which I'm still adjusting to, but luckily I've managed pretty well.

All of that being said, I just wanted to make sure you all knew that there's more to come! I still wanna do something small for Thanksgiving, it just probably won't be an animated short if it happens at all. But the plushie and pins launch on Friday, the 28th, and there will be a video then!

It goes without saying but Back to the Future is a good movie. I MIGHT turn this into a "full short" with more detail/sound sometime down the line, we'll see.

Anyway, gonna start working on Zoe Plush content and hopefully a Thanksgiving adjacent thing this month! I actually received the plushie prototype in the mail today and she looks GREAT in person.

New Short- Halloween Special!

I started working on this October 5th and it still took me up to the last minute to finish it. Oh well, it's a nice long one anyway, so please enjoy, and Happy Halloween!

The Zoe Plush [FIRST LOOK!] and Halloween Preview

The time has come, the Zoe plush is revealed!

I actually got her first prototype images a couple weeks back, but the changes I had the Makeship team take care of were actually so minor that I wanted to wait until the final version to show her off. They NAILED it, she looks exactly how I imagined she would. The launch will be in mid-late November, so I will start making some stuff to advertise her soon.

Secondly, the Halloween short is nearing completion! It's another multi-scene short like what I did for Christmas last year, kinda like a few shorts combined into one. I have a couple little things to finish, and have to do all the sound effects, but I'm hoping to release it this Friday.

Behind the Scenes- Pins n' Pointers n' Stuff

Been a while since I've shared a Behind the Scenes post, and since I'm kinda in a "working on a bunch of things but none of them are ready to post yet, oh no" stage of production, I thought I'd at least give an update here before the end of the month.

First off are some pin designs I submitted to Makeship! Just yesterday, in fact. They asked me if I wanted to try out launching some pins alongside the Zoe plush when it's put up for sale in a couple of months, so I agreed! I'm honestly not sure if there's a demand for these, but since Makeship offered I thought "why not?".

Second is the next short, which is a pretty quick one, but is almost done. It's all about getting the maximum amount of bounce for a stunt, and they definitely do succeed.

Third is a short I'm working on about Zoe entertaining Murphy with a laser pointer. I've been taking care of my friend's cat while they're on vacation and needless to say, he is very entertained by this.

Going to be thinking about Halloween as well, just gotta get this month's "thank you" done first. I hope you all enjoy this look at things!

Congrats to Zoe, the next plushie!

Welp, I am truly surprised, in a good way! I had no idea Zoe was so well loved if I'm being honest, I expected Vivian or [bunny] to win over her, haha! Patreon is the only platform where Zoe did not win, so I do apologize to the majority of voters here. If Zoe gets funded, we'll try again with Vivian and/or [bunny] next time.

I'm going to submit references to Makeship tomorrow, so be on the lookout for an announcement of Zoe's campaign soon!

Holy crap, it's finished!

Truth be told, when I initially showed this off, Summer vacation was about to start for most kids in America, so I thought it would be nice to hold off on finishing it until school was back in session. So there's a double-dose of DePoint for this month already!

As usual, more going on in the background! I should finally have more free time soon, but I've got another short nearly done in the background just in case I get too busy.
