I think it's cause he didn't chew him and consume his spinal fluid. He only bit off his arm and swallowed him whole. I mean that titan probably would have turned back if it had picked eren up with it's hand and chewed him intentionally. The other titans did that, but this ones mouth had been held open by force until it forced it to close, and it just happened to swallow eren who was holding it open. Not an intentional eating.
