Nakia, still on one knee, released her third arrow.
This time, she aimed low and the troll failed to spot the low attack. Nakia pierced the troll's foot, pinning the beast to the turf even as Aura summoned a more concentrated ball of the magical electricity she'd initiated the combat with.
Still protected behind her shield, Aura raised her arm and cast the deadly bolt at the wounded monster. The ball sizzled as it streaked through the air and crashed into the troll's torso with a thundering boom that rattled the hills.
The troll staggered, looked down at the smoking ruin of its chest, groaned, and collapsed.
Nakia stood up and walked back to her friend.
"That could have gone worse," she noted.
Aura nodded. "No one was hurt and the town is intact; this is a fortunate day, indeed. We should celebrate."
Nakia quirked an eyebrow. "Oh? And what do you suggest, enchantress?"
