a bit late but characters that got to my mind are Alice from the McGee series or Shevenom as she basicly just wants to merge (smish) with stuff by nature.

You can also do a mother/daughter bonding ( like from the new do you love your mother anime series) where the two had a dislike for each other. There is also scarysobs' idea above where you do a combination of one individuals dual personalities, like some characters from the fate series.

They seem the same height and size for even dicephalic conjoinment. You can do lingerie for censored and nude for uncensored. Have them run from a mix of the two kind of monsters.
