I wanted to push the idea more they are siblings from different times, I like to think that Vanessa and Michael find a real sense of comfort in one another, that they really only know what theyve gone through, the only other people they can really talk about it with. I think it’s both tragic but very sweet
So Vanessa admitting in earnest Michael is like a brother she never had, would definitely hit Michael right in his chest. Both for the fact, he’s lost most of his family, some of it being his fault, but also she’s the first who wants to be his family, outside of Abby, but Vanessa is the only one who knows the full extent of his crimes, and still considers him family
