Patreon Fees Update
Added 2017-12-09 01:37:51 +0000 UTCIm sure you've all seen all the talk about this update, as have I. Im reading a lot about it trying to make sure i know exactly whats going on with it. There's been so much negative backlash from users, i hope they just call it off and go back to the original way before it goes live. It made sense to take the fees from the creator earnings, since its the patrons who are giving us those earnings in the first place. The update was supposed to help creators but instead its causing us to lose patrons entirely. I'm gonna do my research and talk to friends who are also creators to see what our options are to offset the new fee system. I agree with others that a good solution is to modify the tier prices to try to match what you were paying before. I don't want anyone pledging to support artists to feel ripped off or taken advantage of, and we very much rely on your support to get by. Patreon has honestly revolutionized online artists' ability to support themselves with their art, and for that reason, id hate to see it collapse due to mass user exodus. Just wanted to let you all know i am aware of it, and if/when it updates, will make changes to account for it~
