Weekly Update #28
Added 2021-11-20 01:36:04 +0000 UTCSo much for the "weekly" art polls. They helped me get back on track at least.
I think I'll be moving them more too..."whenever" rather than forcing myself to draw something I don't really want. Plus they'd probably make more sense if there were more characters in the game.
As for game stuff:
Progress is going well! Chloe will be added in the next update, there won't be a whole lot of content for her yet, but I'll keep adding stuff as we go along. After this update I'm thinking I might do a bit more of a "polish" update, just fixing up text and trying to make the game look a little nicer without adding much (if any) new content.
For now though, there will be an update with Chloe, We get introduced to the character, have a cooking class with her, meet her out and about, go on a first date, and interact with her in a magical WG scenario.
There is also a hub that I've set up, giving the early game a lot more structure. It's still in very early days, but once more characters and events are in the game, it'll feel a lot more fleshed out.
I'm also hoping to put more music and sound effects into the game, instead of the creepy silent void we have now. I think I might need to create a separate "game over" for more "neutral" endings, as the music that plays right now is a bit..."bad ending."
So far I have done:
- All of the base model art for Chloe
- Most of the backgrounds (of wildly varying quality)
- Almost all of the writing (except about 20% of one scene)
- Hub set up and ready to go
I still need to:
- Export all the images (doesn't take too long, just a bit tedious)
- Draw ending scenes for the WG scenario
- Finish writing that one scene
- Draw one more background
- Code the scenes
- Add the dialogue to the scenes
- Add music(?)
Overall, not a huge amount of stuff to do, mainly just programming and a bit of art. Overall, it shouldn't take longer than 2 weeks.
