Weekly Character Art #1: Corporate Takeover (Feat. Roxanne)
Added 2021-10-15 03:43:18 +0000 UTCSo people voted for a new character and I decided to go with Roxanne! The last time I did actual WG art with her is in very early concept art.
The idea behind this is the gym Roxanne works at was taken over by some kind of vaguely nefarious soft drink/energy drink company, which creates a product that causes massive weight gain and a little bit of mind control, causing laziness and fat acceptance. It's an idea I may or may not put into the game proper. I'm not overly thrilled with the bright pinks though, it's kind of painful to look at.
(I also used this as an excuse to draw a quick gym background, but don't tell the other patrons)
The final size of this 3 part sequence was "SSBBW". It's a bit hard to figure out how "big" that is. One person's "Super Sized" is someone else's "barely chubby". So I decided to go with a more realistic size here.
Trouble is, I have a minor problem when drawing fat faces, they make the head look bigger overall, which makes the character look a little shorter by comparison. Normally this isn't a huge deal, but for a character like Roxanne, who is supposed to be very tall, it makes her look a bit weird. Or maybe it's just the pink. I don't think I've ever drawn her in that colour before and it really doesn't suit her. Plus, as a character, she's defined pretty heavily by her facial shape (as far as any of my characters are at least) and muscles. Take those away and she looks like a completely different person.
I guess this is just a sign I need to practice drawing her bigger, that's all! Though we'll see what people want for the next weekly character art.
