Patreon's New Tier Posting System
Added 2018-10-26 02:17:43 +0000 UTCHey folks,
Just a quick update about this. This new way of posting stuff will be rolled out soon I believe, so it may affect what posts you see. Normally, a higher-tier patron will see all lower-tier posts. This new change will affect it in such a way that:
1.) The creator can now control what tier the post will be posted on. And...
2.) The patrons can now see only which tier posts they only want to be notified of.
We'll continue posting the way we have after the new system's in place. We'll see if any older posts need to be updated. Just take note of #2 ;)
The change is supposed to take into effect on November 7th.

patreon and the semantics seems to be getting crazy latley heres hoping they can keep it settled
2018-10-27 00:22:40 +0000 UTCYeah, there shouldn't be drastic changes. The ability to post up stuff for specific tiers only does add more use-cases for creators who are looking forward to this feature.
2018-10-26 16:14:58 +0000 UTCBased on the article at Patreon about this change, it looks like nothing will really change regarding how posts are "segregated". It's a terminology change. Rather than referring to the dollar amount for the tier, the reference will be to the name of the tier. The checkbox system still makes it possible for higher tiers to see all posts. By selecting the "Select Tiers" radio button, all tiers are checked by default. If the post is intended for "More Sneak Peaks" ($10) then deselect the tiers below that and only "More Sneak Peaks" and "You're Awesome!" will see it. I don't see any mention in the article about patrons being able to select what they see other than by choosing which tier to which they belong. However, the article does also say "Update Coming Soon!". That could just mean this change is going into effect soon.
