New Android Test Builds 0.6.5 06-18-2018 #2
Added 2018-06-16 16:09:59 +0000 UTCHey folks!
Ok! I've edited this post again... Let's do this once more! It looks like I didn't clean up the project of Crosswalk stuff enough in the test build earlier. Now the build system only throws in a single ARM APK file. At first I was baffled by this, but then I realized that the multi APK output seemed to be tied to the Crosswalk add-on. So no more Crosswalk means no more multi platform versions.
I've managed to get the official Android Emulator (through Android Studio -> AVD Manager) running Android 8.0 (API Level 26), and managed to install this test build's APK without problems. It ran as expected, and I didn't see any of the weird problems relating to the disappearing and cropping text. How weird. Somewhat assuring but weird. I hope this does solve the problem seeing as it's a real emulator and not a simulator.
So yeah, please feel free to give this a test run. If you see the aforementioned text errors, just let me know.
This version will most likely need Android 4.4 and up with the following Android System WebView add-on:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview&hl=en_US
Android 7.0 and up uses Chrome's WebView by default, and if you want to switch WebView versions, you'll need to enable Android System WebView under your phone's System -> Developer Tools option. But so far, no one with an Android 7.x device has reported odd problems with the game and Chrome's WebView is pretty up to date.
Now as far as directories and caches are concerned, I'm really not sure about these. I just make the builds and try to make sure they run. As for where they're located in the Android device's directories, I don't know about those (unless I'm programming something that really needs me to use the file system.)
