New Demo Release! Ramen no Oujisama v0.25.1 alpha

Hey guys!

Thanks for waiting! We skipped a month releasing this version to everyone else but our patrons. We're sure you're all excited to see the new updates in the game, and they're now available for download! (Patrons please use the download link provided in the post made exclusively for you since this is the demo version.)

Here are the changes we've done...

RECENT CHANGES (FROM v0.25):

NEW! Artwork for Sango, Mie, and Ren are now cuter, sexier!

NEW! Sango's special animated scenes have been updated!

NEW! Gallery Reset button - Press this when new updates with new gallery scenes are rolled out to reset it to its default state (where everything's locked). Sometimes this causes the game to not function properly, for now, a game restart will fix it.

BUG FIX! Mie's 2nd special animated gallery scene doesn't finish (black screen at the end)


CHANGES SINCE THE LAST GENERAL RELEASE OF v0.20:

NEW! Gallery section now open! You can now unlock scenes as you encounter them!

NEW! Special scenes can now be skipped in case player wants to focus on the story first. Said scenes will still be unlocked in the gallery section.

NEW! Another character route is now open with 3 new animated scenes!

IMPROVEMENT! Character artwork for Tomone!

IMPROVEMENT! New GUI style.

IMPROVEMENT! Character names are now colored!

Clear Save Game option at titlescreen also clears unlocked scenes in the gallery list

Due to a bug in the Android version, text log lines to have been limited to 30 when playing this version of the game.

Fixed up Sango's route in preparation for coming improvements.

Bug fixes (ex: toggle the play button when the ingame menu is opened)

We have not touched the event CGs yet, but maybe we'll look into these sometime in the future.

That's it! Up next: Finishing up the 3rd characte route and its animated scenes! But before that, we're fixing up a little something just before we post up about the Android version!

Hi Derp, Thanks for supporting us! Really means a lot to us bro :). Answering some of your points: 1. We've had feedback about this before. Basically, the game wasn't designed for this sort of thing.. yet. We've given the feature some thought on how to best put it in and we may be able to put this in sometime in the future. This feature is a bit connected with #4 at least for us. 2.a In-menu buttons: I think we can do something about that. But let's see ;). 2.b Mouse click notification icon: We can probably put a longer timer in there and make it smaller. As much as I'd like to assume everyone's comfortable enough with the usability of the game, we've had feedback before that was contrary to this... So a reasonable compromise is the best choice. 3. We haven't come out with the Android version yet... until sometime today! ;). This is a tech decision we came up with back at the start of the year, so the game in its current form now is balanced for both mobile and PCs (of course, this could still use some tweaking). While we considered the specs and usability factors of mobile devices, we still built the game to be played on desktops and laptops. But please don't worry, we are targeting at least quad-core powered Android china phones, and not low end ones. 4. We can tweak this! Thanks for your feedback. We'll look into these :)

you really need some FEEDBACK: 1) Saves Saves at the end of chapters is not very good choice. You force people to play through whole chapter just to get to "the choice". People should be able to save BEFORE choices, saving after choices is useless!! Especially replaying whole beginning (chap1?) just to get to the choice to choose ramen (the girl you want to date) is annoying as hell... 2) User Interface First thing you should improve are those icons/buttons in upper right corner. Is there really need for them to be visible all the time? Its bit distracting. At least when you click on icon "Hide Text" then you should also hide interface!!! Its useless to just hide text when ugly buttons still remain on the screen. I also think that showing Icon to "tap the screen to continue" (basically click the mouse) in every single frame is USELESS. People are not idiots, you know. On PC using mouse is nobrainer. And even on the mobile phones people (even absolute noobs) will understand it completely after doing it once. 3) PC vs Mobiles One all-purpose build is not exactly best choice. You have to downgrade performance of your game so it wouldnt freeze on mobiles, but people on powerful computers expect really smooth performance. Instead they get really slow loading speed, slow text drawing, etc... Can you consider compiling 2 different builds?? One for slow mobiles, second for powerful computers? 4) Fast Forward / Skip Can you perhaps improve speed of "fast forward" (or skip) and "auto play" ?? When people are replaying chapters they have played before, then want to pass through text fast... current speed is really slow and it takes long minutes to pass through the chapter. PS: I understand that your game is still in alpha phase, so I hope you will improve these annoying parts soon. I wish you good luck
