2023-11-26 17:29:51 +0000 UTCIn the book version of The Wizard of Oz the slippers given to Dorothy were silver, so here they're going by the original. They were changed to Ruby in the movie because the silver wouldn't show up well on the screen, especially back then.

2023-11-22 08:12:41 +0000 UTCIn the Wizard of Oz books, the slippers that Dorothy uses to get home are indeed silver like in the episode. The Ruby slippers were only in the movie and I believe they chose that color to show off the new Technicolor technology.
