Upon doing this rewatch I’ve realised that I don’t dislike season 4 nearly as much as I thought I would. I have a few episodes I really don’t enjoy in every season up from 1-4 and they’re around the same number for all the seasons. The only difference is that in season 4 they’re all back to back whereas in seasons 1-3 they were more spread out. (I’m referring to episodes where nothing was keeps my interest up, neither plot lines or songs). I’m a person who loses interest in things very fast. So I think when those few episodes that I didn’t enjoy came back to back made me kinda disengage from the rest of the season. The fact that it was week after week of being disappointed back when it aired probably didn’t help either(At least now I can binge them quickly and get to the fun stuff). From “Naked” onwards is when the show really picks up for me. I also really like the first few episodes, but after the Grease episode it kinda dips for me, with the exception of the Christmas episode.

2023-09-09 22:00:24 +0000 UTCI completely forgot that Kitty is dating Noah/Puck. Yet another storyline that would not be acceptable today. I’m glad they at haven’t made us watch it. I like all the songs/performances in this episode aside from the girls’ mashup. With Will & Emmas’s song I feel like the performance/scene lifts the song (I think everyone had the same reaction you did the first time watching it as it’s very random in the context of what’s going on in the story lol). With Will’s song outside the house it’s the other way around. The context/performance is really cringe (and the kids being there almost felt inappropriate to me, but that might just be me overthinking things) but his voice sounds really good in that song. Me and my classmates danced to Shout (the original version) during our High School graduation. (It’s tradition in my country for every class to run out of school while everyone’s relatives stand there and cheer and at my school every class got to prepare a short dance to do on an outdoor stage before we ran to our parents. It was super fun!) I agree with you that Unchained Melody would’ve been better as a solo by Jake and they could’ve done that if they just showed Marley flashing back to moments with Ryder, I think they still did a good job with the singing though. Darren and Chris (Kurt and Blaine) sound sooo good together, my heart can’t take it!

2023-07-15 22:22:00 +0000 UTCI don't really feel Season 4 either. I am just watching because of the old characters. The only new kid I kinda like is Jake. I think Season 5 gets a little bit better somewhere down the line. Songs were okay this episode. It had one of my favorite Blaine/Kurt duet soooo ... can't complain much lmao

2023-07-12 20:21:05 +0000 UTCI definitely liked the boys' mashup better. Plus, boys in flight suits and underwear trumps the girls in their fancy dresses (in my opinion, lol). I am with you Travis on being confused about Will taking blame for Emma running away. Emma should have said something way before she ever put that dress on. It just made no sense that he was basically apologizing for everything. They both played a part in it, but the actual running away while the ceremony is supposed to start falls on Emma's shoulders. Will leaving for months before their wedding and leaving basically all the planning to her also contributed, but she definitely should have said something prior to all that. As for the NY crew. Santana definitely adds spice to that dynamic and I love it because it keeps us all on our toes. Santana going through their stuff is totally on brand for her and to be honest, they didn't seem that surprised or pissed about it. It's a satire and comedy, so we're not supposed to be taking it too seriously, so I find it funny that she admitted it to them (she totally would have gotten away with it too because they didn't even realize it until she told them) and then moved on to the bigger picture, which was that she was trying to protect them by finding information out about Brody. Clearly Kurt was on board with something being off with Brody and the whole going through their stuff was forgotten. Also, Santana pretending to snort cocaine in the background while Rachel was on the phone with Brody was comedy gold and totally seems like something that Naya added in. Santana is a character that they use to clue us in to the things that the other characters don't notice so they use her snark and sarcasm to do that which I think is genius because of how well Naya delivers those lines. They also use Santana to challenge her friends so that they will face what they are avoiding, which is a tough role to play in a friend group, and she does come through in the end and shows that she will support them. The scene with her and Rachel was touching and heartwarming because she knows that Rachel will need help and that she won't reach out to anyone else. I think she learned from the whole situation with Quinn how hard it is to go through a pregnancy without support. Loved them doing Footloose at the end. The choreography was fire.

2023-07-11 05:59:14 +0000 UTCI'm just gonna say it, the guys should've won. What the girls did was cute, but it was barely a mashup. That being said, it's good that everyone got to be a part of the last number because I loved the Footloose performance. I agree with you on the Will and Emma situation by the way. I get that she was stressed planning it, but she at no point explained her concerns to Will. So instead of talking to him about it, she runs away, but it's all his fault? Umm okay?

2023-07-11 05:48:45 +0000 UTCThank you. And you're right. You feel how you feel and there's nothing wrong with that. 😊

2023-07-11 05:29:07 +0000 UTCNo worries. I don't mind. It just seems that there are things I love in the episodes but also some meh moments. Can't win em all!

2023-07-11 05:22:41 +0000 UTCYou're totally right, Adam is just like Rory. I hate that they brought in British and Irish characters just to make them into jokes. It literally made me cackle when Adam said he's from Essex, they sound nothing like that fake posh accent he's putting on. It's like the writers Googled British counties, picked one at random and said "that'll do." 😂🤦

2023-07-11 02:11:27 +0000 UTCOliver Kieran-Jones who plays Adam is Welsh and was clearly written poorly as a just “British” just like Rory was just “Irish”. No research or consultations were done for either character, just slap of some stereotypes and call it a day.

2023-07-11 00:10:14 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favourite episodes of the show, in my top 10. But I see you weren't a massive fan... Each to their own of course. I just think the songs are all brilliant and match the storylines really well. The first song that Will and Emma sang is beautiful and I love the spinning room, they were actually on the floor the entire time, if you want to see how they did it you can watch this behind the scenes video. https://youtu.be/J1iksNKoK1A I also thought everyone performing Shout was awesome. I loved the duet between Blaine and Kurt, it's so beautiful and moves me every time. The boy's smashed that Tom Cruise mash up and I loved the girls singing Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend (although I do agree that it wasn't really a mash up). I thought Jake and Ryder singing the song from Ghost was really cleverly done and they sounded great, but I will say that I also wish they'd hit the high note, they're both capable of it. Will singing to Emma with the boom box was cheesy but I love cheese lol, I thought it was very sweet. And the final number from Footloose was BRILLIANT, I always love it when Sam takes the lead in a song. Overall this episode has the most songs in any Glee episode and I love it. My only issues with it were Santana just being absolutely horrible and getting away with it, as per usual. As you know, I'm not a fan of her. She's a bully but is hardly ever called out on it. She reminds me so much of a bully I had at school so that probably doesn't help with how I feel about her. And also I don't like Adam. His British accent is clearly fake, no British person EVER has said "what's shakin' bacon?" and people from Essex do not sound like that. If they wanted to bring in a British character at least do some research because Adam is actually embarrassing lol. But those two things aside, I love this episode. And I look forward to the rest of the season. Unfortunately it seems like you're not into season 4 much, every reactor I follow has the same pattern. They love season 3, then the cast changes along with the tone of the show and suddenly the reactions get all negative. I'm yet to watch a reactor with a positive view of season 4 so I feel like I might be the only person who loves it. I actually prefer the craziness of the last three seasons to the more serious tone of the first three. I just wish at least someone felt the same way. This isn't in any way about just you, this is about me wanting someone to share in my passion. So I hope this doesn't come across in a bad way, I just wanted to share how I personally feel about this. I hope that you don't mind. And I do totally respect your opinions. This was another great reaction. 💕

2023-07-10 23:41:09 +0000 UTCYeah, no one really cares about the adults in the show. Brittany and Blaine’s (dubbed The Sunshine Twins) “Shout” was the 500th number of the show. Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend/Material Girl is straight from Moulin Rouge titled Sparkling Diamonds and they left the arrangement how it is in the movie but the costumes are from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes where Diamonds is from. Santana sniffing Brody out the second she moved into the loft is perfect, and her digging through every nook and cranny looking for evidence was hilarious! And then she put everything back and no one noticed! But all that shows that she is really looking out the the people she begrudgingly calls friends, of course she’s going to tease them mercilessly but she really cares about them, and that’s how she shows her love.

2023-07-10 23:26:10 +0000 UTCthey do these dream sequences a lot with will especially while he's watching older musicals for comfort.... it reminds me of when barry (from the tv show the flash) rewatches singing in the rain because it was his mother's favorite movie musical

2023-07-10 22:50:16 +0000 UTCI gotta throw this in there because of Footloose Peter Parker: Are you talking about Footloose, the movie? Star-Lord: Yes! Is it still the greatest movie of all time? Peter Parker: It never was 🤣🤣🤣 Yeah, I'm beginning to remember why I don't remember much of season 4, it's forgettable. I mean, besides Rachel's winter showcase performances, not very memorable. Still, those 2 performances of Rachel are my favorite of the series. Most of the time, the romantic stuff in this show don't really work for me all that much. I don't think that Will and Emma ever really worked all that much. I mean, he has to make everything this huge gesture when all she wants is for him to love her. It would've been better if Emma came back to Will on her own (plus, why bring the glee club with you). Yeah, just a weird episode. I'll always enjoy the musical numbers though
