Stephen Sondheim actually helped work on the movie (I’m not entirely sure what he did). I know a lot of people seem to prefer the stage version to the movie- I haven’t actually seen the stage version, and I don’t know what they changed or added to the movie, but as someone who’s only ever seen the movie version, I liked it. I was introduced to this by my sister when I was a sophomore in high school, and I’m actually not sure why I like this movie 😂. I’ve always hated blood (and a lot of other things that appear in the movie), and I still can’t look at the screen for most of the scenes with a lot of blood, but I still watched your reactions to those scenes. I love the cast of the movie. This was Johnny Depp’s first time singing, and I think he did a pretty good job considering that he hadn’t sang for a role before then. This movie had a lot of Harry Potter actors- Snape, Wormtail, Bellatrix, Young Grindelwald (and Vecna from ST), and older Grindelwald 😂. I agree with you on the lighting of the movie, it’s definitely (literally) a dark movie. They could’ve made a lot of it a bit lighter, but I feel like since it’s Tim Burton it kinda makes sense that it’s dark.
