This episode is one of my absolute favourites, everyone does such an amazing job playing drunk and the songs in this episode are really good too! (Well, except My Headband, but maybe that goes without saying? Lol) But like many of you have said the writers did Kurt dirty in this episode! If what he said was meant to be coming from a place of hurt because he might lose Blaine, then the writers should have had him explain that and apologise to Blaine. A small scene of that (along with Blaine explaining to him why that was offensive) would’ve made this episode perfect. Glee did a good job teaching people about acceptance in so many ways, but they missed a big one here.

2023-02-01 19:14:26 +0000 UTCI cringe so hard at this episode. I feel like the writers wrote Kurt as biphobic to show that it’s ridiculous and bad (aka that’s how I’ve always seen it) but they could’ve done wayyyyy better at showing that by actually shutting him down or having him sincerely taking it back or something. Idk. I’m pan and it makes me rly uncomfy but also I don’t know what message they were actually trying to send.

2022-12-28 03:50:40 +0000 UTCAs a bisexual myself, I hate Kurt in this episode. Every time he speaks in this episode I feel like slapping him. I see some people in the comments are trying to defend Kurt and the writers but for me there's no defending it. I've lost count of how many times a lesbian woman has said they won't date me because im bi, they say I'm just scared to come out of the closet. And my male bi friend has had the same thing from gay men. It's such a harmful and wrong stereotype and it really does hurt when ever someone says that, even if it is just on a TV show. Glee at the time really was groundbreaking with it's representation of LGBT+ people, Brittany's bisexuality actually helped me to understand what I am. But they did also get some things wrong, and this episode is a prime example of that unfortunately. 🙈

2022-11-29 09:17:41 +0000 UTCah yes, the episode where Kurt is biphobic but just for an episode. not that Rachel pursuing Blaine romantically after likely months of Kurt expressing romantic interest in Blaine also isn't bad, nor her kissing Blaine without his consent at the coffee place. but Blame It On The Alcohol is maybe top 5 glee covers ever so yknow, this episode's still great

2022-10-29 10:11:57 +0000 UTCNow just to make sure its understood. He still is absolutely wrong for how he said what he said. I just don't thank that he or the writers are literally meaning that bisexual men don't happen in life. And he is absolutely handled his friends issue incorrectly. When dealing with Blaine, he really quickly moved to it being about how this impacts him.... Even with Kurt being right in his view of what is really going on. Making it more about how how this impacts him is NOT the way to approach it. I thank his conversation with Rachel is a little better (though still should be handled much more gently, about warning about getting attached to someone who you know was previously interested solely in another sex. He's far more brunt then you should be as a friend, and at this point he and Rachel are actual friends. But while you should be cautious, that person could be the someone who is legitimately for the first time discovering something about themselves, and it could lead to something deeper. So be careful, but don't cut yourself off to the possible. You can say that in ways far more gentle then what Kurt did...

2022-10-29 03:35:56 +0000 UTCSee I didn't take that passage that way at all. I don't thank Kurt believes that their aren't bisexuals. I just thank he believes Blaine to be gay. And that would be based off of all this interactions with Blaine his interactions with fellow classmates. And this would be in a very safe space to mention same sex attraction. As the school is all male (minus staff) and the majority are very likely straight men. He also is aware that Blaine just made a huge massive public announcement of his feelings towards another guy. And how did that go? It went bad. He was mortified. And not only was he utterly embarrassed it caused harm to the person he liked. Thats a a negative reaction. And he states he has never been someone's boyfriend. And isn't good a dating. When confronted with social awkward and painful experiences its quite common to retreat into a safe and expected role. And lets be very clear here. That is being in a opposite sex relationship (Thankfully over my nearly 60 years thanks have been dramatically improving, but we still have quite a ways to go). And since the other person was the instigator he knows he's not going to be shot down. And since he has previously had no feelings towards this person, if it doesn't work he would feel less like a user, then if it was with someone he actually was a real friend with. As for the statement itself, while it is factually wrong, it does have some nuggets of truth to it. There have been a multitude of gay men and women who knew that they were sexually into the same sex only, who used the shield of being bisexual. People who aren't exploring or trying to understand their own sexuality. But simply trying the safe choice to protect themselves. Now since we don't ever get a bisexual male character on Glee, and I thank we only had Brittany for a true bisexual female character, we can't state with certainty about if Kurt really feels you can't be a bisexual man. After all do we assume that everything a character states truly represents a characters real beliefs. For example when characters were stating Rachel's parents should have had an abortion, did you honestly thank they truly meant it. And that literally an example from the very first episode, you can go through the episodes and find thousands of statements that are very likely not meant to be taken as literally what the characters actually think. Now Kurt has two issues (my opinion again of course)in this episode, that he didn't calmly explain what he meant, and he pushed to make it about him versus just trying to help Blaine. That to me is the bigger and deeper issue.

2022-10-28 18:26:36 +0000 UTCThis is one of my all time favorite episodes except for the biphobia. I like Heather’s Tick Tock way more than Kesha’s, not to mention her dancing! Also Heather just won Masked Dancer UK!!! She was Scissors which is absolutely hilarious. The cast was known to have many parties in their trailers and at each others houses, especially Jenna and Kevin’s house.

2022-10-27 23:56:26 +0000 UTCas much as I love Glee, the bi-phobia is rampant sometimes & its gross. Totally okay if girls are bi in this show, but not guys.

2022-10-27 23:55:29 +0000 UTCRachel is going for a 1970s look. That dress style was popular. Honestly, it looks really good on taller women back then, but for Rachel, I think the pale blue doesn't work? There's a bit of a 70s theme going on in this episode, with the mentions of Joni Mitchell & Carole King, and Carole King was playing when Rachel kissed Blaine in the cafe.

2022-10-27 23:40:06 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite episodes of the whole series. The acting is great and we get to see such a different side of these characters. I loved Finn's breakdown of the different types of girl drunks and how well each of them embodied it. Kinda wish they would have done it for the boys too. Drunk Rachel is actually pretty funny and she still talks so fast
