Her and the visitor have only one chance for survival and that's the gate which was originally used. As the world comes crumbling down around them, they take an extreme risk. While the gate is functional, inorganic material teleportation is problematic.
Using it could result in...complications, or death.
Timbo makes the correct guess that Zeiss is that woman scientist. It will be brought up in future pages, but the teleportation process did harm her enough that she had to be remade and with that the dawn of true artificial intelligence was created.
