Harry and Koriand'r spend the night in the safe house, being woken in the early hours of the morning for a chat with Batman. Wanting the help of the league, they do their best to convince him that they could be of help and are left to their own devices, choosing to sleep through the day. The next night, they go out exploring and end up stumbling across a terrible, ultimately fateful, scene with a psychotic clown and his henchmen having taken people hostage.
