One thing I always try and advocate for when I'm teaching is that as an artist it is often important to curb the the thought "what is the craziest thing I can do here"
A sense of an adventure, a camera, and an adrenaline rush are a dangerous and fun combination, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the most dangerous image is going to be the best image, or even look the most dangerous. Same goes with the most models in an image isn't necessarily going to make a better image than just one.
Every little wrinkle you add makes it more difficult to get everything to come together perfectly. I tend to prefer simple. One model mostly, occasionally two posing for images tends be work better than 5. The same goes for one horse, and so on and so forth.
That said after we had successfully taken photos of each model with a horse. The models convinced me to do two models and a horse, and then the convinced me to do three models and a horse, and as the sunset I heard Lillias behind me yell "Should I get in there?" quickly followed by "I'm going to get in there"
And before I could lobby any protest I knew it was going to happen. What are the odds of 5 models and 3 horses coming together to make good image? 1 in 207
