I wouldn't be where I am if it where not for Lillias. Its amazing now 1 year ago we were in Portland looking at this house because while venting about Seattle she mentioned how much cheaper it was down here in Oregon. Just a few winter months ago we shot in this green house, that has been transformed to a home for my avocado trees. Now inexplicably I spend about as much time tending to my plants as I do shooting and editing.
This is not something I ever really saw for myself, but this is the place I have gotten too. I can't explain to you all the amount of joy nurturing nature gives me. I am sure from the theme of my work you all now how much I love to spend time in nature, but until now I have only been able to give back in my photography, now I am responsible for taking care of a small part of it. What I give is given back to me, and then some ne it in the green house or the old woods.
What I love about these shoots is that each one is a time capsule. I almost forget how this place looked last month, and then I dip into a shoot and I see how far we have come. Its easy as an artist to lose track of your growth. You see the incremental change so much from day to day that you miss the leaps you have taken over a year.
It is my goal to not miss the leaps. Take it in, enjoy it, and continue to grow.
