Ireland Rose for Into the Wild
Added 2018-10-14 20:41:01 +0000 UTCSummer's gone, but I of course am still working my way through a mountain of editing from shoots abroad and at home. I just got back from almost two weeks working in the desert of Nevada and California. I had 5 shoots, but really I spent most of my time inside editing.
When we got on the plane to Vegas I couldn't shake this feeling of just complete exhaustion. Memory is a funny thing. Before Patreon I remember traveling a lot, and I did, but when I looked back at my schedule for the last 2 years I realized I pretty much haven't spent an entire month home. Compared to before where I would usually do 2-3 months of travel and 2-3 months off, which actually was probably a little bit healthier of a system.
Not that I'm complaining...just saying I'm always working on finding that balance, and I think I've drifted towards a pace that is a little to frantic.
The main reason I bring this all up is that I feel like I moved to Seattle to be in the North West, and I am spending way too much time chasing far away places and neglecting the intense beauty we have all around us. I have a PNW location bucket list a mile long and I have checked off exactly 4 places since we got here.
5 now that Ireland Rose and I made the trip out to Chuckanut Drive an incredible little system of trails that overlooks Samish Bay. It was summer so the light was not really ideal for photos down along the coast, nor were the crowds, but we found some amazing little spots among the forest to create this set of images. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did in creating them!
