The Affair

So over the summer right around the time we were getting ready to move out to Seattle I got an inquiry from the producers at Showtime about whether or not they could license some images of mine for the TV Show The Affair.

Specifically they wanted close ups of labia. I immedaitely said yes, and then realized that this isn't something I have actually shot much of. Mostly because it is done to death, and mostly poorly. As I would learn it is also super awkward to shoot. Luckily Circa, Danielle, Freshie, Rant, and Nicole were all around over the next few days, and willing collaborators that trusted me not to fuck it up. Even more lucky I had just bought a close up filter for taking macro shots of jewelry.

Normally I shoot from a pretty far distance when I'm working. Switching over the 50mm for some of my work I have started shooting a little closer to my subjects than previously, but by no means am I taking macro-shots of them. Shooting within inches of people is weird. I guess the luckiest of all is that in addition to work withing amazing models, we are also kinda weird, so awkward and funny photo shoots are just part of life.

So we put together a very quick mini-series and sent them off to Showtime and crossed our fingers.

And they loved them. So if you get a chance to watch all of season 3 or episodes 2 and the finale you will see some of my work on the show.
