Sierra McKenzie for Pulp

Something new is abrewing now that we are all moved into our new place, and I'm on an adventure shooting something new!  I decided I wanted to play around and do a short term project in our new house, while I finish laying out Temperance as a book, and get everything together to start my next big project, which will be shot on a mixture of digital and wet plate!  So out of that was born Pulp.

I love the colors of our new place, and all the sunlight we get when we get sun.  It is giving me a lot to play with as far as ambient light, so I decided rather than light this series like I usually do indoors, mostly flash, I would only use the modeling lights on my strobes, lamps, and window light.  I love playing with cross balanced lighting, so this is especially fun for me, and I love the vintage feel the images end up having...about as close to film as you can get with a digital sensor.

I've had a few shoots, so far for this little series, but I'm especially excited to share Sierra's for it.  I was actually pretty sick when we shot these, but I'm super stoked with how they turned out.

Ugh if I could shoot like Chas it'd be a miracle his lighting is impeccable.

Sierra has never looked better. Simply stunning. Love the very 1970's lamp used in the foreground in some of the shots. I love the very soft lighting . Great work. I look forward to seeing more from your new space in the NW.

I dig it, reminds me of some of Chas Ray's older works (some of my very favorites)
