Temperance is back. After 4 months on the road I have been shooting for this series in what feels like a wave of inspiration that has built over my time away. I can't honestly keep track of all of the shoots I have done for this series since I have gotten back. Between editing photos from the road, and editing photos from home I have fallen into what feels like an endless editing abyss. Editing is my least favorite part of photography. Some people love it, but for me sitting at the computer is monotonous. I love the final result. I love being on my feet and shooting. I even love printing photos, but this part of the process isn't super exciting.
That said since its been so long I wanted to release two amazing shoots I have had since I got back home: Shasta Wonder and Pure Rebel. These two are both absolutely amazing models, and conveniently both fellow Patreon Creators. From the moment I saw each of their respective bodies of work I hoped that our paths would cross, and then within 7 days of each other they both passed through Philadelpiha. Have I mentioned how lucky I feel to work with models of a legendary quality recently? Because seriously I feel so fortunate to have such amazing people come through town.
For my shoot with Shasta I really wanted to play around with both shooting some almost abstract type bodyscape images with the 85mm F1.4 and the mirrors and some more pin up type images with my 50mm. She is incredibly at mixing up her posing and completely changing the mood of a photo with her movements. It was the middle of the Philadelphia heat wave, the temperatures pushed towards 100 degrees, and the Temperance room is ridiculously hot, so I had to keep my shoots brief, but in that time we created a ton of amazing photos.I can not wait to work with Shasta again.
With Pure Rebel we wanted to shoot a little more retro type erotic work. Her expressions during our shoot were absolutely amazing. I love working with models that can tell an entire story with the way they move their face. Every image has emotion and details that sometimes can be hard to get, and Rebel killed it. We shot three quick and different looks around the room, and I was captivated with Rebels ability in front of the camera. She was a new and instant favorite, and conveniently we are moving to the same city as her soon, so I am sure there will be numerous future collaborations between the two of us!
August marks what will be the last month for Temperance as a series. Come September we will be taking down the fabric on the walls, and packing it up for future use. I have said since Day 1 that when I finished the series I wanted to do a limited edition Folio of the future book and bind it in the floral fabric, and that is what I will be doing with it. October and November I will be going through the over 1,000 images I have shot for Temperance, narrowing them down, and then figuring out how to turn the entire thing in a book. I've never felt more confident about a series before, so I really can't wait to see how it all works out.
The floral books will be printed entirely by me, every image signed individually and laid out more like a Folio than a book, but I think its going to be amazing.
