We made it! Right now I am writing you all from the parking lot of a department store on the west coast of New Zealand. I have learned a lot the past couple of weeks bouncing around Pacifica. Firstly free wifi is not really a thing here, and paid wifi is almost as rare.
Last week I was in Sydney for a little while and I had a couple amazing shoots! I don't know if I have actually said this before but my goal for We Were Wanderers is to shoot on every continent, so now that we have made it out here I was incredibly excited to check one more off the list!
We made it to La Perouse on a beautifully cloudy day, and the park, while tiny, is breath taking. The kind of place that if it where in the states would be over run by photographers everyday at sunrise and sunset, but for whatever reason I had the entire place to myself for the hour I was shooting.
I loved the soft light under the cliffs, and the vivid colors of the layers of sand stone, as well as the amazing textures, so we tried to play with and incorporate them into the shots as best we could while staying relatively safe. There are deaths every year at La Perouse and none of us where keen on being part of the tally that greets you as you make your way to the shoreline.
These were predominately shot with my 17-40mm F4 though I did switch to the new Sigma 50mm for a few shots just to play with lower DOF.
I can't wait to share more of Australia with you guys and create in NZ!!
