Before I left for this trip in the cold of the winter, and right around when I got really sick I had so many visitors to Philly for Temperance, and it was really amazing. Our house sometimes feels more like a hostel for traveling creatives than a normal home, and it makes for a great time of trading stories and sometimes unexpected shoots/collaborations.
Lillias and Alice had never met before they were both staying at our place, but over the course of a few days they had excitedly decided that they should shoot together while they were in town. I was still getting the hang of the new Temperance set up, so I was excited to be able to play around and see what we could do.
The way I had rearranged things I was really favoring the Canon 70-200 F2.8L IS as it gave me a lot more freedom, and a lot narrower of a field of view, which was useful when playing with the way the two mirrors I had set up on the wall interact with one another. It was much harder for me to be out of photos in the new set up when using shorter focal lengths, and I think it was just nice to switch up the lens selection anyway for different points of view. I still used mostly the 85mm for individual photos, since I have a little bit more room with one subject.
But it was awesome to see two models go from strangers to friends to collaborators in just a few days. I love the community that I have been able to become a part of, and how much passion there is for art and support of one another within it. So many amazing people come through our door I hope we can continue to foster and support this as we go forward into the future.
