Nicole Vaunt for We Were Wanderers (Indiana and Colorado)

Its been an exciting couple of weeks on the road. I wasn't really planning on doing much for the first leg of this trip aside from seeing a few friends in the Mid-West and Colorado to catch up, but my friends had other plans!

When we arrived in Indianapolis to see Chunni, she wanted to take us to one of her favorite spots in the state Cataract Falls. We got there right around sunset, which turned out to be pretty much the perfect time for arrival as there were no leaves on the trees to offer us much in the way of shade! After hiking around a little bit, and waiting for the sun to drop we bounced around to our favorite spots we had picked out on our hike up the stream. The perfect, soft, golden hour light made for a spectacular couple of images before we rolled out of Indiana and onto Colorado!

When we got to Colorado Springs to see our friend Damsel we knew we were going to be heading to Garden of the Gods to hike around and shoot a little one of the days we were there, but Damsel also dug up one of the most beautiful locations we have ever seen Paint Mines Interpretive park! Both locations we hiked around and found places that we would want to shoot in during the sunset.

Sunny days haven't been my favorite to shoot on, but recently we've really been focusing on making it work in the last half hour of a day, but using the whole day to hike around, scout, plan, and occasionally shoot a few photos if we find a perfectly shady area.

I feel like as Nicole and I shoot more and more for We Were Wanderers the results continue to get better! I hope you all enjoy the results as much as we enjoy creating them!
