Porcelain for The Jungle (Seattle)
Added 2016-02-22 11:42:40 +0000 UTCOne of the great things about working with Porcelain (Her Patreon) is that she can turn anything into an amazing shoot. Her range of expression in front of the camera is really really amazing. She starts to move and the images really just create themselves. Its always magical.
My series the Jungle was really made as a means to shoot similar thematic content to Temperance while traveling, but as I have shot each one they have grown into their own things. The Jungle has become more and more focused on burlesque and facial expression and is just so fun to shoot for. Temperance is much more of a puzzle I get to tear apart and put back together differently over and over again. Fun in its own way, but different.
I've shot with Porcelain a few times for The Jungle now, and every time is magical. She is able to transform things you wouldn't normally see as a setting into something out of this world. Put her with a tree, or an old park bench and somehow the images are fantastic. I wanted to include both of our Seattle shoots for The Jungle in this so you guys can see what we have done!
The black and white series was shot mid day using the shade from some trees and clouds to get a nice soft light, but the color of it was nearly impossible to deal with in post. The amount of green was a little overwhelming. I decided to really play with the few color images I did that day and treat them more like a cross processed image than regular. Our full color shoot was in the woods as well, but right around sunset, so we had some really beautiful light to work with!
These were both quick. Probably less than 20 minutes each, and I used my 85mm F1.4 for all of the photos.
