Raquel Reed for The Jungle and Into the Wild

Finding a place away from it all in New York City to shoot can be pretty hard, but a year or two ago Kacie Marie and I shot in Prospect Park and since then I've been in love. Raquel and I were planning on doing an adventure to Fire Island after kicking around idea's for finally doing a shoot for The Jungle or Into the Wild, but it turned out escaping New York in the late fall and making it to the ocean was going to be sort of impossible, so we headed to my favorite place.

I was nervous about this shoot. Raquel doesn't do nudes, and was willing to with me and I was sort of overwhelmed by the honor of her allowing me to be the one to photograph her. I wanted everything to be perfect. I reached out to my favorite lingerie designer (Agashi by Christina O) and she reached out to an amazing chain mail maker she knew, so loaded up with wardrobe bags we wandered into the forest of Prospect Park. My focus was using the 85mm F1.4 to create the best bokeh possible with the fall foliage still clinging to the trees, but also try to use the 17-40mm to show incorporate her into the landscape more similar to Into the Wild.

We bounced around the forest from location to location changing outfits to suite each spot and lenses as well. Chasing the light through the woods in Prospect park is always a bit of a challenge as we have to stay clear of other people, toplessness is allowed in NYC, but full nudity is not, and even then you always risk a cop deciding you are disturbing the peace. But we managed to shoot for nearly two hours without any sort of problem.

I hope you all enjoy the results of our adventure. We are already planning a shoot this summer when I get back from my next trip. Sorry for the delay since my last post, I've been dealing with E Coli that I picked up in Mexico for most of the month, and the crazy snow storm as well, but I'm back and healthy!
