We drove from Nashville to the middle of nowhere Kentucky through hours of fog and rain. Heading off the highway down gravel roads that turned to dirt and mud way off the beaten path, until we found our place to camp . We slept in our car that night, so that we could wake up early and hit the trail for photos.Kentucky is one of those states we haven't really explored much. So close to home the geography isn't much different from what I grew up with, so we hadn't really tried to shoot there before, but since we were there we figured we'd give it a try.Our original goal for this side trip was to shoot at Yahoo Falls, Kentucky's tallest waterfall, but on our way down we found a bunch of little spots in the large rocky cliffs that we thought made for some beautiful photographs.
I was glad we had stopped so many times because while the waterfall was beautiful it was only a trickle, which is quite hard to capture in a photograph. It was a partially cloudy day, so it was a lot of waiting for the clouds to roll over the sun for our photos, but when it did the lighting was absolutely beautiful. I switched between all of my lenses for these, though I think I only ended up editing photos shot with my 70-200mm F2.8 and my 17-40mm F4 L.https://www.dropbox.com/sh/yzrf3tfabibgq5x/AAB7oaDol8mXm109wo_FUmqla?dl=0
