[Bonus Vid] The Story Behind ALIEN'S Deleted "Cocoon Sequence"

This Bonus Video explores one of Alien’s most haunting deleted scenes. The infamous “cocoon sequence” features Giger’s grotesque nest design, which transformed Dallas and Brett into horrifying egg-like victims. Before the Queen Alien retconned the lore, this concept suggested that the Alien could reproduce on its own by turning its prey into new eggs. Giger and his team poured intense work (and gallons of latex) into building two cocoons, one with a barely alive Dallas begging for death. You’ll see the wild behind-the-scenes efforts to bring this sequence to life, from moving stages to avoid burning down Shepperton, to animatronic dummies, to another use of maggots. Although the scene was ultimately cut, it remains a fascinating glimpse into the original vision of the Alien’s life cycle.

Thanks so much for your support!

I haven't seen the scene as part of an extended cut of the movie, which i think is for the best. What's interesting is that the cocoon scene itself is different depending on what blu-ray you get. I think there was only one edition that had the scene with music and everything. For some reason, the shot of the flames with Dallas in the background wasn't actually in the 'completed' scene.

Neat! Was this scene included in a director's cut dvd? I know I've seen it, but can't recall if it was just a deleted scene in the 'extras'. Also, ew, real maggots on set? Blegh.
