Just click on the picture and then rightclick it and select "open in a new tab" or smth like this, AND THEN save it. (Works for me)

(referring to the ember post below this one) A normal mouseover makes the mouse arrow turn into a "Zoom in icon" now... I click on it, and a high rez image pops up. Right clicking "save image as" seems to work fine for high rez. No need to open in another tab for me *shrugs* Maybe its a browser specific thing?
2017-07-28 07:04:01 +0000 UTCPatreon *definitely* has been recompressing certain JPG (though not PNG) images--specifically, any JPG image that was shown as the "cover" image in a post, with no way to access the original JPG. Now, it appears that all JPG images in a post get recompressed. Back here, for example: <a href="https://www.patreon.com/posts/ember-alts-13077696">https://www.patreon.com/posts/ember-alts-13077696</a> under the old interfaces, the image that got chosen as the "cover" for the post was about 358 KB, while the others "below the fold" were over 900 KB and the quality difference is easily seen. Now they are all around 350 KB. This new interface is abysmal. They've taken the worst aspects of modern Windows "flat" anti-design and social media's ctrl-click/right-click functionality-denying, laggy-animated-overlaying bullshit. I can no longer ctrl-click/right-click an image to open in a new tab (with Firefox, at least) as the images are no longer standard links. I have to just tolerate the laggy animated overlays to get the full images. PNGs appear to remain unspoiled, however.
