HC Sanatorium development update

I've been overwhelmed with work lately, but I come with good news. We are approaching Beta version of the game! What is new:
- ability to crouch with Ctrl
- added whole new NPC, the security guard. She is sitting in the entrance hallway and keeping an eye on security cameras, who comes by and all that stuff. She will have a taser in the future, because well... she doesn't mess around. Try to avoid her, even though, I'd completely understand if you'd let her catch you.

Hello my dear followers. My health is deteriorating faster than I expected. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to pause the HC Sanatorium project. I'll leave the Patreon open for 30 more days, so anyone new that might want to try the game, has the option to do so. But I'm planning to pause the subscription system, since I'll pause my works on the game. Hopefully I'll recover quickly and we'll be back on track, but currently the situation is critical.

Design update (and other stuff)

Hi, I haven't been very active since publishing the roadmap, mostly because of my health issues and other things happening in my life.

The progression was slow, mainly because I had to deal with many bugs and design mistakes that popped up during the level construction. This being said, I expect to finish 2024 goals by the end of January. I had a lot of responsibilities lately and I had no time at all to work on this. I added one last mechanism for now, since in 1.2 versions I want to focus on other aspects of gameplay - especially level design and world building. -Added electricity control panel mechanism - player is now able to create small electricity outage. This will disable the cameras and lights will start blinking.
-Fixed sirens rotation speed (increase).
-Fixed nurse spawning - she will now spawn on several predefined spots instead of previous random approach which was not ideal. Also she can now spawn facing both left or right.

-Added security cameras mechanic.
-If the player is detected by camera, sirens will turn on and it will alert the nurse. She will come to the player if they are still in the camera field of view, if not, the nurse will come to the last position that the player was seen at.
-Fixed a bug where the nurse would run backwards if the player was detected behind her

There is a control panel in making that would disable the cameras if the player tweaks with it.

-Finished the locker mechanic. You can hide inside the locker, but if the nurse sees you enter it, she will pull you out and tie you up, nice and tight.
-Fixed the EBKs not respawning. It's just a quick fix because in the future I am planning to add some delay, so the EBKs won't respawn immediately.
-Fixed Nurse bug where she would stay stuck at the end of the hallway. Now she is once again turning around when reaching a wall.
-Fixed locker shadows not being present.

HC Sanatorium devlog 13 [BUILD]

-A lot of code changes and reorganisation.
-Fixing bugs, bad code.
-EBKs (Emergency Bondage Kits) are finally fully incorporated and functional! They will stay broken until the Player gets catched (environment reset).

-Created three new items: Rope, Microfoam tape and Handcuffs.
-Created script for EBK (Emergency Bondage Kit) that will be strategically placed around the Sanatorium for nurses to restrain possible escaping patients. HC Sanatorium devlog 07

- Added chloroform mechanism.
- Created chloroform nurse animation.
- When nurse catches patient, she will now tie her up, then put a cloth over her nose. Player will start to lose oxygen until she fades out. She will awake in her cell, tied up to a bed. I will create special animation for bed bondage later. 
- Behind the scenes code changes.

Today was a lot of work. I feel a bit burned out, so I'll take a pause for a few days. But so far, I like how it is going.

- Fixed the inventory system bugs, now its working as it should without index sliding and duplicating items.

- Added base for computer screen UI layout.


Just a quick one today, haven't got much time throughout the day. Hope you are all well. Next I'm planning on either developing the computer activities, thus adding something to do into the game, or I'll work on Nurse and maybe player's stats. Then I'll have to think through the next steps.

- Created base for the UI and Inventory systems
- Added UI text (on the left it says what can you interact with, on the right is a build number (will be removed in final version of course))
- Added inventory mechanism. For now it's controlled only by buttons, just so I can see if it works. I was able to put few pairs of pantyhose into the wardrobe and the drawers as well. Inventory will be controlled through specialised UI window in the future.

- Created a first design for Hallway level. There will be doors to patient cells, storages and nurse rooms, alongside few objects, such as Emergency Bondage Kits etc.
