At the time I was writing fetish stuff, my career in television production had stalled due to the pandemic. I was furloughed and needed something to do, so I decided to open commissions. I figured writing fetish-y scripts would be a good way to keep my screenplay skills sharp while making some money. But I never liked fetish writing all that much. I was good enough at it, but the tedium of trying to come up with new descriptions constantly, and getting commissioned to write the same exact stories over and over, in addition to low pay, it just stopped being fun. Turned out, I liked production more than writing. So I stopped in 2021, around the time I got a job as a video editor. I'd been commissioning MacStarVA in private since I was making so much. I cannot remember why exactly, but I just... had an idea. Panty and Stocking. It needed two people, however. I decided to look up if other VAs did scat. AkujiSaitoVA listed themselves as kink friendly, so I figured I'd ask. They said no, until I showed them the script. They thought it was hysterical and not actually as depraved as they'd been led to think scat was. So in October of 2022, I released Panty's Gotta Poop. In November, I had the idea for Peach & Daisy's Double Dump, and wrote the script, paid for the vocals... and was laid off from my job the very next week due to the declining economy. What I discovered from those two audios was that it wasn't at all different from my dream job. I was writing scripts, I was contacting talent and working with them, I was editing them, and then I was hyping them up for release. Basically, I had become a writer, director, editor, and producer all at once, at a time when I wasn't sure which one I wanted to be. Audio-making gave me the chance to do it all, and that's the part I really like.

I got my start in a mix of machinima and indie horror games so I became accustom to shouting and crying so doing grunts and other intense vocals doesn't phase me. Sometimes I do have to force myself to keep a straight face when saying specific lines, but I don't view it any differently than voicing any other role, kink or fetish." Lechory: "Its not much different at all. It's moaning and groaning all the same for a NSFW artist like me. Although, there's a lot more straining of the abdomen which in turns makes my stomach grumble (oh, the irony)." HRA: "At the start of going full time, I thought I should do things I wanted to do, so that I could keep my interest enough to do it once a week. But it became clear through feedback for scripts and especially backing that you can't just do what interests you and expect people to then be willing to pay for it. Now, I think of HotRamenAudios as something like a movie studio, not in terms of like, scale or importance, but in that the goal is to employ a lot of people and maximize profits by releasing things people want. Ultimately, there's no real reason to scrap a project now. Content is content for the page. But certain things just can't be a priority at this time because the interest wasn't there. I'm happy to give an update on them all, though. - Ophelia motion comic releases this month. I wanted to sit on it since a lot of people ended up signing up just to hear the audio, and I didn't want them to feel scammed that, if they'd only waited a little longer, they could have heard it with visuals. I did NOT plan for that and didn't expect it to end up so popular. - Uzaki-chan motion comic is just slow goings because JD has a ton of work on his hands for toilet girl game. - Quiet animatic is low, LOW priority now because the audio was extremely unpopular. - Kobeni motion comic hasn't received updates for a while because Pal's life is generally very chaotic but I won't say much more for the sake of his privacy. Plus he seems to be more interested in the Miku comic at this time so I am letting him pursue his passion. - Ramona Flowers audio just needs the right voice actress. Mary Elizabeth Winstead has a very low voice and I haven't met anyone who can do it yet. - Frieren mimic audio just needs a re-write for efficiency. The original script has too much dialogue and too little "good stuff." - Lastly, the two audios from The Before Times, I just wasn't satisfied with them at all and I struggled to find motivation to finish them. I think the Avatar one just needs more sound effects that replicate the energy and comedic tone of the show, but I haven't found anything like it, presumably because the show used an original custom library. I might pull a favor and have a friend create some for me. Morrigan needs extensive retakes.

What made you transition from story publishing to audio production? *Certain* websites for publishing becoming untenable? Shift in passions? Like I said, always something I’ve been curious about!

For PK: Considering how some projects that were shown off before haven't received any public updates for a while, what'd happen to a project that's been cancelled or scrapped instead of being kept on the backburner for a long time? Were there any projects you had in mind/started that eventually had to be scrapped/cancelled for whatever reason?
