(IMPORTANT) - The Monthly Audio System is Being Overhauled

Greetings. I'll explain the changes first, and then explain why for those interested. Please note there are no changes to tiers or rewards.

• 1. All audios will be ideas that personally interest me moving forward. I do my best work that way. But to ensure democracy reigns supreme...

• 2. The Monthly Poll will be between three scripts I've written in advance. The scripts will be free to read by all members. Hopefully, winners will now be decided by the best script and not just the most popular character. I will summarize the script for those who have no interest in reading it.

• 3. The monthly suggestion box will be replaced with a Permanent Suggestion Box. For $1 a month or more, you can submit as many ideas as you'd like to the box and I will consider them. At least one script each month will come from the box. The box will go live Saturday the 23rd at 10 AM EST and will be pinned for easy access.

The main reason for these changes is I don't feel I set myself up for success. I over-promised on backer incentives because I had thought the best way to get people to sign up was the rewards. It's not. It's making work people like and want to support, and then doing it consistently. Audios are fun. They're also costly and high-pressure when it's someone else's idea and you don't want to screw it up.

I also had an uptick in backers joining for the recent early release then cancelling within minutes, ensuring I did not receive payment. Maybe they didn't realize that that's how the page is set up and assumed I would receive their money. "Never assume malice where ignorance is just as likely." No matter. It's all part of the game, but it made me ask myself if I was actually up to playing. So I'm changing the rules so the game is more fun for me.

On the backer's side, paying $3 a month to never see your idea win seemed disheartening. Even at $1 a month it's not an appealing concept. Patrons have confessed to submitting ideas they expect to win, not ones they're passionate about. And after the submission period ends, the Patron receives no further benefits. I hope this provides more appealing incentive for those on the fence about joining or remaining paid members.
