Hopefully this map fits the title nicely. This is a huge, volcanic, dwarven themed entrance! It could be the entrance to our Dwarven City Centre, perhaps the Throne Hall? Or maybe you have a magical golden ring that needs casting into the fires of a Doom Themed Mountain?
We're very proud of how this map turned out. We really hope that y'all enjoy it and find a use for it in your games. We definitely want to hear about the climactic battles that might take place here. Let us know how you'd use it in the comments or in the Discord!

I think you can just use that as part of the fantasy no? Dwarves are resistant to the extreme heat, no one else can get close, for example. Or no one expected lava and now it's so destructive that it has to be stopped by magic.

2025-12-22 00:03:59 +0000 UTCAlas, seeing lava in person has ruined all lava maps for me. What people don't get is now unfathomably hot it is to even be near the stuff, as I watched the bottoms of peoples' shoes melt as they walked over hardened lava that had active lava flowing 20+ft beneath it. Anything nearby that's flammable spontaneously combusts. I got badly scalded by waving my hand to close to a small vent where lava was flowing somewhere deep below. Sometimes birds will drop out of the sky because they will fly over the active flow and the heat will knock them out and they fall into the lava already dead from the heat. It's just this little pillar of flame that two and a half seconds ago was a bird. Peter Jackson lied to us; Lava is not sauna jelly, it's instant death slime that instantly cauterizes everything above it and nearby. Beautiful maps as always, but I'll have to pass on the lava variants.
