I knew Justin Clark and he worked at a farm that I know in the early 2000s. This episode has caused me great confusion as I had no idea Justin and Hamilton worked and knew each other

2025-12-08 22:18:00 +0000 UTCI just returned to listen to this again, after listening to the Aaron Gillespie interview on SWUB. Brutal honest. Same comment, totally different people. Beautiful & true, however difficult. Thank you Hamilton for making so much content and sharing it with us.

2025-09-20 07:40:42 +0000 UTCA lot of men fearmonger about it being used along with false accusations as a way to ruin an innocent person's life, and i think a lot of them do so as a way to lay the groundwork for the believability of their denial of the inevitable accusations against them. But I also think a lot of more impressionable and naive young people buy into that narrative and do see it as a legitimate thing they need to be afraid of. And of course that is also part of the goal for these prolific, public figure, Weinstein type abusers, to undermine the credibility of, and support for victims who come forward. I'm not sure if you meant it this way, but it didn't sound to me like Caveh or Hamilton were complaining about #metoo, I think it was brought up as one obvious factor that's led to everyone being so secretive and dishonest about their own normal flaws.

2025-08-25 01:47:43 +0000 UTCIt’s so funny how many men tell on themselves when they complain about #MeToo. You won’t have problems if you didn’t rape anybody pal

2025-05-31 21:09:10 +0000 UTCBecause of your preamble, I discovered Caveh and watched all of The Show before The Show. It's so compelling, wild, and much of it I related to. I wish a portion of the left would really leave behind these purity tests, I understand why he thinks/feels the alt right is attracted to that show/art. The left does not want to offend anyone, while at the same time stifling and cutting off anyone who does not "fit the bill" Idk, I just really appreciated the rawness, the absolute audacity to pull it off. Yes, there are real life consequences, real suffering, but I feel like that is the point.

2025-04-15 08:30:01 +0000 UTCTo what you say about Roman Polanski, "What was your motivation for consuming the art in the first place?". That's a good point. I've avoided his films because of who he is, but you're making me rethink. Consider this though: you can interpret the creator as part of the art. That's something I often do, especially with music. It's a reflection of the artist's soul, ya know? Caveh even says this a bit later in the conversation. Then, Roman Polansky drugging and raping a 13 year old prostitute in France becomes part of the art in a way. Makes it more gruesome. I don't like that. It's really fucking gross. But I might still watch with that in mind. Also, there's this feeling when I consume beautiful art that I want to put the creator on a pedestal. Especially when I first really get into an artist. I think it's because I'm an artist, and I want to look up to them. Then you discover something bad and you feel disappointed, ashamed, even personally betrayed. Someone you love and respect turns out to be a shitty person. God damn it! This happened to me last year with the underground rapper Xavier Wulf when I found out he was a domestic abuser. His music took on a different tone for me and it was hard to listen. Shit, now maybe I'll take a look back.

2025-04-12 21:27:37 +0000 UTCAnother terrific episode—delighted to be reminded of Caveh’s work, which I’d lost track of after Sex Addict. Eager to see more. A quick visit to his website led me to discover his “Getting Stoned/Not Getting Stoned with Caveh” series, which is great
