I am so grateful for all for the kind and constructive comments. Barry's story thus far has only been told marginally in a few places in the literature. I unfortunately hit a dead end with this project when I tried to reach out beyond Barry's initial circle of friends, relatives and doctors/researchers, and I wasn't able to connect with any of his friends that may have had more first-hand information. I am grateful to Debbie and Barry's mom Geraldine (RIP) for accommodating me so warmly and allowing me to interview them, as well as Dr. Davis and Dr. Markey.
