2025-08-02 13:14:08 +0000 UTCSomeone else mentioned that diethard has only ever seen violet with her gloves on, so he likely thinks that she got out of intense totally unscathed but left his brother to die. This coupled with the untold backstory mentioned in the other comment is a pretty strong case for his hate of violet. It was only the last moment there when the bullet deflected that he realized that she lost her arms in the battle. Diethard is a dink for sure, but like many of the people violet has touched in this story, he hasn't been able to move on from the war yet while she and the others are trying their best. I think though as claudia said, you can try your best to move on but you will always have the scars.
