This mod changes nearly all animations from the Main Game to be more accurate to female models which replace Leon. Changed animations include enemy grabs, player animations, melees, death animations, weapons, and miscellaneous things such as ladders and wheels. However, it is not perfect, and some things remain uncorrected and/or off. Some Leon-exclusive enemy animations have been changed as well to be more accurate to female skeletons. This mod is exclusive to this Patreon and my Discord, and it will not be uploaded anywhere else. It will be free for anyone to have it if they so wish to.
Important notes:
The knife holding is sometimes incorrect when you initially load into the game. To fix this you just need to load a Separate Ways save file once, and then load the Main Game save file you wish to play from. If you don't have Separate Ways, open up the Trainer and turn it on. Leave it on Leon. You can choose which outfit you want, but overall it should correct the knife. Be sure to check "Do Not Load Additional Resources" before you do so, otherwise the game will get stuck loading once you turn off the Trainer. Alternatively, you can use the knife fix addons included within the zip if you wish to avoid using the Trainer. Do note, however, that these fixes only work with the base knives, and in order to have modded knives work correctly, you must do either of the first two options.
Mods which use Ashley's skeleton or completely custom female skeletons, such as Motoka's mods, work with this, but there will be some distortions and inaccuracies when certain animations play, as the animations are for Ada's skeleton and not those. Most of the time it looks fine, but there are moments where mods that use unique skeletons may not look the best.
There is an optional version in the zip file which restores Leon's melees and fixes a bug in the main version that occurs when an enemy attempts to pick up Ashley. However, that version has some misalignment to corrected animations as certain files which were needed for stabilization cannot be included as they replace Leon's melees. Overall, almost all the animations look passable, and shouldn't be too offsetting (hopefully). Corrected animations for the jacket are particularly quite janky, but the proportions are roughly a match. This optional version MUST be installed independently of the main mod, otherwise they will conflict and Leon's melees will not be restored.
The only enemy which isn't corrected is normal Krauser, as I cannot do rudimentary editing to his armature or his skeleton without it looking quite off. The only quick fix for him that I use is to use the Trainer to decrease his scale to 90, which generally matches his grapples to Ada's proportions. This fix is unnecessary with his mutated form, which is corrected. Normal Krauser's character code for scaling is ch1b7z0.
UPDATE 8/9/2025:
Version 1.7.2: Corrections extended to all Mercenaries characters. All of them should now have enemies grab them as though they are Ada. One particular problem with this version is that Hunk's neck break melee is now completely broken with this, and in order to reliably use it you must uninstall this mod. However, all other melees, such as when enemies are kneeling, work just fine.
