Quick Update

How are you doing, my beautiful people?

I hope you are doing great, I sure do.

I'm leaving town for the weekend, and I wanted to give you guys a quick update since there was no release this week.

1- I spent most of the week laying out the comic for Tracy. I'm pretty happy with my choices. Tracy is hard at work working on the lettering for "Newly Webs" that will be released later this month, as well as evaluating my layouts for the next one. It's a new step for us, honestly, but I needed her help on one of the pages, and that snowballed into pre-lettering the whole book to make sure that we have everything that she'll need for that particular story.

2- So I finished the layering Thursday before noon, and I spent the next day and a half trying to learn 3D. I'm exploring Sketchup right now, but I'm opened to other programs if necessary.

Every comic I'm working on pretty much always has the same issue: the backgrounds. I usually draw 1 scene and reuse it over and over again, and I'd really like to be able to change the POV more often, without adding too much to my workload. So, the idea would be to build it in 3D, use the wireframe as my linework, and render it by hand as I usually do. I never used 3D before, so the learning curve is a bit rough but I think that if I can play with it a few hours a week , I might be able to do something with it.

I spent the morning building this toilet paper dispenser, and considering that I opened the program for the first time yesterday, I think I did alright ^^

Anyway... I'll hit you back on Monday with the schedule for the week.
