it was just a little misleading to me cus I thought the men portrayed in the potteries were all grown up and I thought that the men with beards symbolized dominance and stuff, then I realized that it was an old-man-to-young-twink situation and it involves minors in their period. I think I'll reconstruct the art on the Chalice on my own, draw 2 grown guys doing it it in the style of ancient Greek art

I 100% get your intentions and I commend the effort you put into this comic (your art style is incredible); itโs sad that greek pederasty is being wrongfully recontextualized as an historic homosexual practice. And given what youโve said about it being all that you could find when youโre looking for references, thereโs a lot to unpack about how queer relationships are shunned and censored during this period in contrast with how pederasty holds artistic (and historical narrative) authority.

2024-12-29 04:21:08 +0000 UTCI kept looking for nice gay ancient Greek pottery images but I ended up with this one cus I've seen it being used a lot as evidence to tell people that "gay guys aren't modern cus they're already exist since the ancient times". I could look for one that represents a more acceptable m2m interaction depicted in pottery but I noticed that pretty much all of em has this image of 2 or 3 men in a frame where one has a beard and one has not, which suggests pederasty. I just intend to reference a depiction of ancient Greek homosexual affairs. The search results bring me a lot of... that. I'm deciding to make this temporary, discard it and change it soon.
