Story Idea: Let's Blame These on FNAF
Added 2022-01-10 00:06:02 +0000 UTCOkay, I have two ideas that both came about because of watching play throughs of the new FNAF game. One is my usual fare, the other is a horror story.
I'll start with the usual story:
A woman is applying to a popular entertainment spot. It's a themed establishment that offers things like food, karaoke, small rides, arcades, and offers a general sense of 80s aesthetics as well as fantasy nostalgia to the patrons. She has a love of singing and performing and is classically trained, so she applies for a spot to be a 'princess' one of the main performers. She eagerly waits for a callback, but when she does, they offer her another job. She's told she's not what they're looking for (hinting she's not attractive enough) and offer her a night shift position with the possibility of filling in and working her way up to some other level of performer. She's heartbroken and defeated, so she accepts the job since she needs work anyways. As she works she meets the girl they did hire, a pretty and eager young woman who has the look, but he talent is untrained. Despite her jealousy, she ends up helping her and befriending her. One of the features of the establishment is a karaoke room which is titled as 'The Radical Dragons Karaoke Cave'. There an animatronic dragon works as a karaoke machine, programed to sing along with the patrons as well as play a sword shaped guitar. His glasses come off and serve as the screen where the singer can see the lyrics to the song. Learning how to operate the animatronics of the establishment for cleaning purposes, she turns on the Radical Dragon to perform and sing to her heart's content. She sings her heart out, having fun with the dragon and putting on a show for no one and nothing. When she's done, she breaks down crying, sitting on the edge of the stage and realizing how far away her dream is. She then gets pet on the head and someone starts telling her comforting words. The Radical Dragon is speaking and telling her how well she did. She learns that the establishment is built over a concert hall that burnt down during a rock concert and that the band who perished in the fire are no possessing the various animatronics in the establishment.
Now, second story which is more horror focused:
Several children have gone missing, and their bodies, or at least pats of them, have been discovered at the local theme park. An employee at the theme park has been charged and the court case has ended, putting him in jail for life. But he continues to plead his innocence. A mother of one of the children who was murdered doesn't feel any comfort from the verdict. She feels that nothing has been accomplished, no true punishment has been carried out, no real justice has been carried for her baby. She goes to visit the man in jail, but rather than get any sense of idea why he did them, she begins to believe his pleas that he's innocent. Angry, she goes to the now closed theme park which has been left to rot. Using information given by the former employee she begins a search for answers around the theme park. She follows the employees instructions, going into underground places at the theme park the staff used. As she searching, she realizes she's being stalked through the park. She discovers features of the park (wax figures, animatronics, or something I dunno) are walking around and converging on her. Thinking they're after her she fights against them, breaking one and discovering inside decaying remains. She realizes the children's missing bodies have been hidden in these living sculptures and the murdered children are trying to help her find her way out. She's briefly reunited with her child, who can only scream in agony and rage. She is given various clues by the murdered children which leads her to a house down the road from the theme park. The house is owned by an artist whose own child died years ago. The two initially bond over their shared loss, but she grows ill and begins to pass out. The artist reveals he created much of the art for the theme park and used the children as parts for his wax works (or whatever it'll be). he drags her away to do the same to her, but she manages to get away. despite the drugs in her system she goes back to the theme park with the artist tailing her. She falls into the theme park where he tries to attack her. But the children are there.
