Jess - The Surreal Stuff

Even if I'm shooting in someone's apartment with no frills, there's a few things I can do to make it more like the imaginative ethereal stuff that feels right. Using crystals in front of the lens, maybe lens babies, use the star filters on my lenses and don't clean them, LEDs, shoot weird wardrobe pieces and nudes.

Mary Mundermonster - Dayton Daze

I shot these with Mary in a flight museum where the Wright Brothers put together the first aircraft. We were only there for shooting and didn't engage at all with the historical stuff which I guess in retrospect was a mistake as I already paid for the tickets!

The Long Walk film review

It’s been a few days after seeing The Long Walk in the theater, and it continues to haunt me. Adapting Stephen King’s first written novel, the story predates his later “Stand By Me” and “Shawshank Redemption” as well as other teen survivalist works like The Hunger Games, but the DNA of those pieces all find a common ancestor in this story. As a film, it also reminded me a bit of Lord of the Flies and even David Lynch’s elegantly pastoral The Straight Story.

Maya - The Light Pours Out Of Her

I use these little LED lights a lot, generally you see them in glasses at wedding receptions and such. Earlier this week I posted a set with Bradley utilizing them and this one, with Maya, is from a shoot at Dystopian Studios in LA in May. I had previously did a similar shoot with these magical LEDs and Cheyanne in 2019 in the same space. Maya is the only one who went this far and one of the reasons why I love working with her so much.
