Death Stranding 2 On The Beach | ALL TRAILERS!

As you can tell by my face, I am thrilled to be back here again!

.......

....

..

The bastard has won me over again! Let's see how Hideo Kojima wins me over in real time and to let you know now, I will be covering this game at launch. I pray for you guys, he's changed or upgraded the delivery of the story so you can actually get through it if... you didn't make it through the first game.

Death Stranding 2 On The Beach | ALL TRAILERS!

I personally think he'll make it more appealing to fans that dropped off the first one. You'll have the loyal fans absolutely but think about the sales from the first one that won't convert this time because they dropped DS1. This is what makes me think it will be a tad different from the 1st one plus, you've already played the first one. You'll want something different.

Kai Zammit

Well Cliff was the most compelling character of the first game imo so it makes sense.

Cameron

I love the gameplay of the first game and I hope he doesn't compromise it to make it have a broader appeal. It's okay for some games to be niche. If you like the story but can't stand the gameplay then just watch the cutscenes on youtube.

It looks amazing and insanely rich with new content. I can't wait. It's good to see that the cinematics grabbed you as much or even more than before. While only 18.2% of people have fully finished the game I think context is important. Is this unique to DS1 or is this common with long complex games? I typically don't finish most of the games I play. However, I finished DS1. That said, Kojima is definitely an acquired taste when it comes to gameplay. A reddit thread went into completion ratios of long games based on completion achievements and typically less than 50% of players finish these games. But yes, DS1 is on the low side. The sad thing is you have to get past 50% for the game to get really interesting and evolve. ~13% in MGS V ~20% in Final Fantasy X ~23% in Ratchet and Clank 2016 ~32% in Assassin's Creed Origins ~40% in The Last of Us Remastered ~28.5 in Witcher 3 ~46% in God of War 2018 Lastly, I highly recommend this video of an elite player doing a speed run that shows the potential of the tech and physics of DS1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKIacsoRIEQ

Can't watch it from Netherlands :(

Don’t know if this is a popular opinion or not but as a fan of the first game, I think the “snake” character is the most intriguing part of this game to me. I feel like his acting is just so good in this trailer

Chris Hudson

Could you imagine if I was right! You'll be like, KAAAAAAAAAAAI!

Kai Zammit

Hahaha, interesting theory about Lou, I'll blame you for spoiling me if it turns out to be true haha ! Now that I think about it, Kojima might pull another MGS2; just showing us Sam in all the trailers and promo stuff, and then we end up playing as Louise for like 90% of the game.

Fun facts: -The song of the last trailer was made by Woodkid, and he also made 2 songs for Arcane. The fight soundtrack between Vi and Jinx of season 2? Its his. The song when Jinx lights up the blue torch and Vi finds her in season 1? His work too -The game has been more accepted by the critics and people so far compared to the last one, and that actually annoys Kojima a little, because he said he doesnt like to do things that everyone likes neccesarily. Clearly loves the divided opinions. -The game had so many famous people that wanted to make a cameo or to appear on the game somehow, that Kojima had to say no to almost half of them because there was not enough memory capacity to have them all. So get ready to see even more celebrities in this game. -Luca Marinelli, the one you said he looked like Snake, was actually, and i dont know if he still is, Kojima's candidate to play Solid Snake for the live action of Metal Gear Solid. It was back then when he still worked for Konami that mentioned he would be the perfect Snake, and due to license issues this is as close as it gets to him playing Solid Snake.

Glad you’re checking out all the trailers. I *believe* they’re blue/grey because Fragile’s ship is used to travel inside of these massively deep tar belts (pocket dimensions) and for that brief period, the lore/world considers them “dead” much like the way Heartmans beach has all the blue people in it (meaning they’re dead) and when came back to life, he turned back in color. And I do want to clarify as a player and someone who enjoyed most of DS1, MANY people are looking forward to deliver packages, we do like that and we want to play that especially because of how dynamic the environment has been made. Respectfully, when you say “That’s what we’re not looking forward to” during delivery trailers, that’s false. I want to play, many of us do.

Danny

Oh and also they added a "Cordec" I think they called it that will be an interactive codex thing that will pop up in cutscenes and gameplay that will explain and give context to the world and what is being talked about to aid people who are too lost in Kojima's sauce or for people who are jumping into DS2 without completing or playing DS1. Kojima apparently put quite a bit of development effort trying to bridge the gap, pun intended, and make his creative vision and productions more approachable and palatable for prospective audiences.

Hey Kai! I wanted to share if you don't know yet that DS2 is going to feature increased combat and "improved" combat mechanics. When it comes to the delivery making, the world now has dynamic disaster events like you saw in the trailers from flash floods to rock and mudslides to wildfires ripping through the forest on your path to delivery and they are both random and scripted. I say this and ask for coverage perspective whether you will want to try and work in some gameplay when you cover it or for your own sanity stick to mostly just the cutscenes and story related content? I am oddly finding myself looking forward to the game after not really taking to the first one but then going back to it and playing it through and liking it more. I intend to pick it up Day 1 and give it a go which will delay my watching your go with it but I am loving that I'll have your take to intermix with my own as I play and we really will experience it together! Love the reactions and looking forward to your coverage of the Summer Game Fest Conferences like Summer Games Fest's stream, Xbox Showcase, and PlayStation State of Play today.

Death stranding is one of my favourite games. Though the gameplay seems boring, when I started I just loved it. A game for everyone, is a game for no one. This game is for me. I love hiking and road trips. It took me 80 hours to Finnish this game to 100%. I agree the worst part of the game is the static conversations, either it's important enough for a cutscenes, or if not, play the conversation while I'm doing a 50 minute hike. I also wish it would show me some of the world building instead of telling me how exactly it works.
