The film named Helsreach, was created by the Canadian director "Richard Boylan". It is from the same novel written by "Aaron Dembski Bowden" and narrated by "Jonathan Keeble" in the audio book.
This has been on my list for so long and was asked by you amazing peeps way before I started doing the really long hangout format videos. After checking out the Astartes 2 trailer, I wanted some more Warhammer in my life and then I remembered Helsreach!
What also drew me to making this reaction was the fact I heard it was animated but not only that, every episode was animated in a different style. This intrigued me and so here we are...

2025-03-16 00:02:03 +0000 UTCI've said it previously when you did a poll and this was one of the selections, this book is what got me into 40K not knowing what everything was is a big shock but then I started looking up things and now 10 years later I have a addiction that costs WAY too much money XD. If you can I would highly suggest the book as somethings have been added and somethings have been removed. Such as during that docks scene in the book you find out that a mojority of the defenders are the dockworkers themselves waiting for the reinforcments of actual guard forces to get there. Theres a section where Stormherald is hit with the building Grimaldus and his squad drop in with jetpacks and look at statues of the primarchs and thats where that speach he did comes from. As you also stated during this whole thing that these people seem more human compared to other space marines or other sort of portrayals. This book shows how Grimaldus is being affected by the loss of his master, new responsibilities and what he thinks is a betrayal by Helbrecht himself and as he continues along the way and with each loss he experiences he regains who he was. If you can go read the book or even listen to the audio book, Jonathan Keeble does a fantastic job. You will not be disappointed!
