I usually begin a new project on Sunday night, but we had 50mph wind gusts from Sunday morning until Monday afternoon. Being someone who lives in the boonies, high winds equal power outages, so I didn't get anything done Sunday.
Monday came, the winds died down, and I decided to do a water change in my 125gal aquarium. I got it about 2/3rds refilled and hear a giant snap... The wooden cabinet that holds 1500lbs of fish, rocks, and water began to twist apart due to sinking into carpet unevenly. The rest of Monday saw me emptying the aquarium, finding enough containers for 100 cichlid fish, and providing enough air and water circulation to keep those fish alive.
Tuesday I moved the broken aquarium stand outside, cleaned behind it (since it hasn't been moved in 5 years), and ventured out into pandemic land to buy wood and screws to strengthen the stand. I spent the rest of the day fixing the stand and doing a full spring cleaning in the room the aquarium sits.
On Wednesday, I finished cleaning, redid all my aquarium plumbing, moved all the fish back into their aquarium (surprisingly no casualties), and touched up the paint in the room.
It wasn't until Thursday that I finally had enough time to sit in front of my computer and start working on a scene. As you can see, I'm going for an Asian girl on a tropical resort. I hope to have it finished by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.
