To answer your question at the end, most reasons for the short comings of the cinematics can be attributed to budget, as this was Ensemble Studio's last game before they were closed down. Makes those "see you on Xbox live" credits hit a little.

Now when someone suggests a franchise, I actually look at where would be the best place to start type thing so this doesn't happen again. Tbh, I still very much enjoyed myself though.

This soundtrack wasn't done by Marty O'Donnell, but I feel like it's right up there with his as one of the best video game soundtracks out there. Thank you for doing this, I had forgotten you had done Halo Wars 2 already...out of order, for shame. Lol

2024-05-21 04:00:37 +0000 UTCWow, that was good, better than I expected. I didn't grow up with Halo, but I knew about it, about the main games and roughly the story. But never heard of Halo Wars at the time, so I thought it probably was because it was a Spin-Off that just wasn't that good and didn't gather fans because of that. But judging from the cinematics alone I really was impressed. Yes, they show their age but that's to be expected. Aside from that they were great, with a 'short', but interesting story and even some cool fight scenes. It's really well made.
